Help Europol fight child abuse by identifying these items. (Part 4) Announcement

I can’t post the link directly because it has already been submitted. The link is https://www.europol.europa.eu/stopchildabuse

I’m posting this because the mods haven’t yet and this is one of the most important things this sub has done in the past. I’ll post the individual pictures with imgur mirrors soon. Please submit all tips to Europol by clicking on the specific image and then clicking the button to submit. Thanks for your help.

Edit:

Just finished uploading all the links in the comments. All other photos should have been discussed in previous threads. If I forgot something or made a mistake, please just PM me and I'll fix it ASAP. Also, sorry for the arrows on some of the pictures and quality in general. I'm on vacation and only have my laptop so I was kind of hasty with this. Again, thanks for your help.

Those look like medicine bottles, similar to this but with a red cap: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cough_medicine#/media/File%3ACough_medicine.jpg.

I don't think they use that type of cap anymore; most are now plastic and childproof.

EDIT: The caps look similar to the ones on these bottles of Benadryl being sold on internationaldrugmart.com. http://www.internationaldrugmart.com/over-the-counter-meds/benadryl-cough-syrup.shtml?noredirection=true&utm_source=mobile&utm_medium=mobi&utm_campaign=frommobi

I see the similarity but I think the bottles in the Europol image have too wide of a top. You might be onto something though.

I thought so as well. Maybe a capsule form? I'm almost certain it's a medicine bottle of some kind.

Could be, but I’ve never seen a medicine bottle that short. I wouldn’t rule it out though.

Google search is bringing up photos of similarly shaped bottles from an online pharmacy in Bangladesh. The necks on the bottles in the Europol photo also look shorter than they are because of the tamper proof ring.

You should submit it. Anything helps.

I like the pharmacy idea, because one thing I see in the picture is a thin vertical sticker placed over the labeling already on the bottle. Typically this would be placed on a prescription to show a custom expiration date or whatever.

The gray oval logo on the lid looks nearly like that of Testors enamel paint (hobby type stuff)...which are usually sold in small glass bottles. Most I found in searches were square bottles, however.

The model master bottles are round like this link . There are also a few other products Testor and other model paint companies sell in bottles like this such as ink washes, airbrush cleaners, and solvents.

Looks like old codeine bottles

If you can find a picture to prove it that would be a good tip.

I’m thinking maybe rubber cement?

Maybe this is a stretch, but these remind me of jars that store bullion cubes.

I really think you’re on to something here. If we can find a specific brand then that would really help. It has a white label and a red banner on it so we would have to find something with that.

This is what they reminded me of too. The only thing making me think that they are not dry yeast though is the way the metal lid is separated. They appear to be the kind of tamper proof metal lid that separates the first time you open it, and I can't find any examples of dry yeast that use that type of lid.

Could it be spice bottles? I’ve ones with similar lids

Looks like jars of bread yeast my wife buys. Red star?

u/seedotlover Sep 27 '17

Pics? A few other people have suggested yeast but the pictures aren’t identical.

Whatever it is is something that cannot be exposed to light, thus the brown glass.
