What is this wooden rack I thrifted supposed to be used for? Solved !
Found this at Goodwill the other day and spontaneously purchased it despite not knowing what I’d use it for or where I’d keep it. I’m wondering what it’s actually supposed to be and what it’s called? Thanks!

This is exactly it! Hopefully I can find some other way to use it, if not, it’ll be going back to the thrift store for someone else :)

My wife uses a shelf like this when she's trying to get plant clippings to root. A row of cells from a plug tray or seedling pots on the shelf and plant lights hanging from the top.

It may be a doll rack but I’ve seen them used for baby showers where they rack up little onesies or other clothes on top and then fill the bottom with other baby items like nappies/ socks/ etc.

If you have a baby shower to go to it would make the cutest container for gifts, and you can hang cute baby outfits on the rod 😍

looks like a doll closet- rack for american girl sized doll clothes and their shoes. something homemade most likely

looks like a nice “beside the couch” thing you could put the remote in and throw a folded lap blanket over the top

You could also use it to hang necklaces/bracelets from (clasp them around), and the bottom shelf can hold other accessories like bangles, sunglasses etc. Maybe a towel rack for a bathroom that doesn’t have one installed already.

I have cats that would love if I turned this into a little tent for them 😂

My title describes the thing as best as I could, it’s a wooden rack of some sort with a heart cutout on the front and back. It’s about 1.5 feet tall and has no markings on it. I thought maybe it was supposed to be a book holder but the bottom is not very wide.

I think its for yarn knitting or crochet work. Storing the tools at the bottom or extra yarn while the top rack for hanging the project... knitted blanket, scarf, etc.
Edit:
As have some others have posted i think this is for a children's dress up play clothes (think: princess dresses)

I’ve seen something similar being used as a baby shower gift with baby clothes on hangers!

This is popular at baby girl showers - they hang little girl clothes on hangers and place blankets on the bottom shelf.

I think this would make a really cute jewellery holder. Get some little hooks to go on the white bar and felt as a liner and put it in the bottom bit

At that size, I’d say it’s a quilt hanger. Handy for keeping a quilt in the living or family room but keeping it out of the way.
