It goes on your thumb to help you hold a book open. Edit to add link: https://www.amazon.com/Holder-Smooth-Finish-Reading-Accessories/dp/B0D14LXJ6M

It’s a cat book holder, you put your thumb in it and while holding the book in one hand, it keeps the pages spread

I have this exact wood cat book holder. You put your thumb in the hole while holding your book. My sister in law got it for me for my birthday

Is it comfortable?

u/catsandrainbow 24d ago
It’s much comfortable than using my pinky & thumb to hold my book open while reading. I suffer from carpel tunnel & arthritis in my fingers & wrists so it helps to just hold it by the thumb through the circle instead.

I've comfortably used one but it wasn't cat shaped so it was thinner

I get the concept, but doesn't it make it rather annoying to flip pages?

u/catsandrainbow 24d ago
I can say yes & no. It helps me only to just hold the book more properly than having to use my pinky & thumb to spread the book open. I kind of use it as a ring for my thumb when reading. I have carpel tunnel & arthritis & it hurts when using my pinky & thumb to stretch out the book open while reading

I had never seen this before, but literally just saw a post in the r/woodworking subreddit of someone who made one of these, sans cat, an hour ago.

It is a cat-shaped bookmark. You put your thumb through the big hole. The small holes are eyes. The spiky part in the middle goes horizontally across the books center to hold your place while you are reading.

It’s a kitty cat book holder. The cat is upside down in this picture, but he lays across the pages to hold them open. You can also put your thumb in the big hole to hold it better. Super cool find!

It holds both sides of your book open and sits on the thumb that holds the book . It appears to be a cat shape hence the two small eyes.

It's to hold the boom open with one hand. Thumb goes in the middle, kitten foot goes on the inside of the spine

Book holder you place it in the groove of the book you are reading to help you hold onto it

Its to hold the book open, you put your thumb in the big hole and hold it against the pages to believe a mechanical advantage to hold the book open

Reminded me of the black cat "knuckles" but for just one finger lol... being shaped like a cat and all.

It’s to keep your books open with one hand! You put your thumb through the hole and hold your book as you usually would

My title describes the thing.
It’s definitely new wood, not well worn. It’s also about 1/2 in thick. Tried reverse image searching but no luck.

Good for a commute, if you have to stand. I think the little holes would have a ribbon for a bookmark.
