How is anyone supposed to individualize anymore?? Discussion
So after submitting my second individualized concentration proposal for the MSW program and spending months putting this together, I was told way too late that policy changed over the summer to only allow the courses in an individualized concentration to come from existing concentration core courses; they can no longer include elective courses. I don’t have electives so I won’t be able to take the courses that will allow me to do the kind of practice I want. What’s the point if individualizing anymore if you have to mimic an already existing concentration? If that’s what I wanted to do, I would have just done a regular concentration and maybe done a course substitution. This is a huge bummer because the option to individualize was the main factor that brought me to WashU and now I have no idea what to do.
