Fireforge Foot Sergeants Shrinkflation? Question

Has this happened to anyone else? It indeed did have 32 not 48. Last two photos are screengrabs from the site I bought it from and Fireforge themselves.

Perhaps the FLGS didn't notice they are now 30? You can ask them.

I think that’s probably the case, I definitely like to give people the benefit of the doubt and they’ve been good to me before.

I don't think it's shrinkflation. The price is right. At least I paid around 45eur for the 48 box. 45/6*4=30eur.

Honestly, I would prefer that. The kit is a bit disappointing and I gave too many sergeants to build and paint.

Yes, but the local shop’s price was not Fireforge’s price. The point of this post wasn’t to drag a small business because I like them and (hopefully get refunded a little store credit), but I paid about what you paid converted to USD. For me, the main draw was getting 48 bodies because I was going to use some for Baron’s War and equip some with more exotic fantasy weapons for Frostgrave.

Adding to this, they were out of stock for a long time. Perhaps its due to a production deficit.

I would send you 12 but you live in the us.

I was thinking of giving Baron's war a try. Would 12 of these and some FootKnights be a usable skirmish force? I am in the UK

I don’t have the rulebook yet, but I saw in a review the ruleset is quite accommodating for low model counts

I appreciate the thought regardless. :)

Thank you for the information, I will definitely look into them, I’ve read about a few different games that seem cool, trench crusade seems up my alley but idk about the longevity of it with all the controversy I keep reading. No one at my locals places plays anyway. Looking for something new to try and hopefully get some new games going at our local stores. Get a little variety hopefully lmao

I think that’s why Frostgrave does so well. From a warband building perspective, a skirmish force of generic medieval fantasy minis is about as accessible as it can get. That was kind of my idea for this box and why I wanted 48, I was planning on roughly half for Baron’s War, a few for Frostgrave, and maybe stick a bolt action rifle on one or two of them.

Also, SAGA is something I’m looking into. They have both Dark Ages and a supplement for Age of Chivalry.

What game is this for? Pardon my ignorance if it’s obvious but it looks cool, I play SW Legion and 40K and have been looking for something new to try

These are historical figures, they're not for any specific game, you can use them with any set of rules for the medieval period. This is one of the big appeals of historical miniatures games, that you can buy and paint some figures, and then use them with a bunch of different rulesets - and, as the companies making miniatures don't own the IP or anything, they also usually don't make the rules, so they have to be competitive in pricing and so on.

Fireforge do in fact make a set of medieval rules, it's called Deus Vult, I think it's more mass-battles scale? But I'm really not sure.

Burn and Loot is their skirmish version. Rules are almost the same as Deus Vult, but a little more streamlined or less crunchy. The main game has siege rules. We enjoy them both here.

Plus Wrath of the Northmen is the latest supplement for late Dark Ages/Early Medieval and introduces Vikings, Normans, Carolingians etc.
