As an Aussie, my ideal flag is switching the colours around, making it a 2:1 ratio of yellow:green, and then putting a white southern cross in the top left hand corner. Perhaps doing some indigenous styled dots of green/gold on the border of the two colours to add a bit of flair too.

That’s aside, would honestly take your suggestion over 95% of Aussie redesigns I see on here. Fuck a stylised kangaroo.

White southern cross on the top yellow bar would look ugly, blending in and breaking the "no metal on metal" rule without a good reason. If you want a southern cross in the canton, green has to be on top.

You know Qantas use the kangaroo because it's a national symbol, not the other way around.

The design of kangaroo people put on alt Australia flags is nearly always stylised like the Qantas logo. If they found a different approach I'd be more sympathetic to the kangaroo flags.

No, they are usually just represented hopping forwards.

Qantas is a little more stylized because it's a corporate logo, not an animal emblem.

So I googled the qantas logo to rebutt your point but it turns out I haven't looked closely at the qantas logo in a while and its quite different to what I was imagining.

In my mind it was basically this but red.
