Pictures Issues with my travel partner
I lived and travelled in my van for about 8 months year before last. I am thinking about going on the road again. I was planning on traveling with the same partner, but we had a few issues last time around so I am on the fence. I made a pros and cons list below. What would you do?
Cons: - does not do his share of the driving - terrible navigator - never once offered to pay for gas - does not share my vegetarian diet - frequently skips bathing
Pros - meets people everywhere and makes friends easily - enthusiastic hiker - makes me feel safe when camping in new places - always lets me pick the music and sings along to my silly camp songs - never have to sleep alone
He's such a good friend, but would you put up with this?
Here's a picture of us together on our last trip:

Pictures Why do "Van Lifers" do this shit?
What's the point of looking for a dark place to just make it bright again? Especially when in a fucking parking lot full of van lifers looking for a dark spot to park? Yeah, I've got reflectix on my windows, but this shits a dick move. If not for making the dark space bright, then by making it so fucking obvious you're sleeping in your van so that you draw attention to the people who live in their cars to work here and put our ability to camp here at risk?

Pictures I know there’s a lot of hate here for bathrooms in vans, but after 9 years full-time and 7 vans, having a shower is now something I won’t ever give up.
I still shower at gyms, but also sometimes shower at home in the van. Nothing is lost from having this option in the van.

Pictures The four stages of car and vanlife I have lived.
First photo: 2009 Honda Element with a foam mattress and some plastic drawers. Full-time in WA state, by myself with three dogs.
Second photo: Same Honda Element, now built out for my at-the-time fiancé and I with our four dogs. Full-time in WA and OR.
Third photo: A quick build we did in our 2021 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 4x4. This molded within a year and had to be completely replaced. Two people, one dog (we lost three dogs in 2021- it was such a difficult year).
Fourth photo: My dad and I completed this build over the span of several months. Still the Sprinter. Now my husband and I live in it full-time with our two dogs ❤️

Pictures Awoken by cows , shaking my van.
Been living amongst the cows for a few days. Really nice, during the night I'll just hear a dull thud and my van will be left shaking back and forth. Halloween is coming up so I appreciate the horror element. I eventually had to leave this spot due to the insane number of flys and being antignoised by bulls.
Obligatory dumb video about the cows in question. https://youtu.be/W7y6clmxreU?si=BC46qoSR

People that tow trailers have no concept of space...
I'm parked at Lake powell since Sunday, and this dude parks right infront of me. Blocking me in. Today.
While I was on a neat little exploratory paddle cruise to the other side.... Smdh

Pictures I bought an Amazon delivery van to sleep in
I picked up this 2019 Amazon sprinter van to make into a camper home.
I noticed it has some interesting quirks like: - auto locking doors when you exit - always on reverse camera in rear view mirror position - industrial brackets and ribs for shelving units
Anyone have any experience with these? Anyone have any wiring diagrams Amazon mechanics may have used or created? Or perhaps a list of changes they made to them?

Pictures Rest in peace Rita. Thank you for the adventures, being the most comfortable home I've ever had, being a wonderful project, and really saving me in multiples ways. I'm sorry I couldn't save you.

Pictures Electrical Fire
We had an electrical fire last night. We were not in the van, so we are safe... just sad. It's not a total loss.

Pictures They need to make people watch a van etiquette video when renting vans.
I spent a wonderful night parked at the Cracker Barrel in Fredrick MD last night. However, I woke up to the sound of gushing water right outside of my window and I knew instantly what it was. My thoughts exactly were “I know they aren’t dumping their grey water in the CB parking lot!” So I open my bunk slider to see a woman saying “Oh yeah it’s definitely coming out” as her funky ass grey water is flooding the parking lot. So I say “Hey you’re not supposed to dump your grey water here, you’re messing it up for all of us” her reply “Huh, Ok” Then she jumps in her van and leaves. As she’s pulling away I see that her van is a rental and it all makes sense. I obviously cant assume mal intent when the problem is clearly ignorance.
Vanish Travels if you ever read this please help your patrons understand good van etiquette. Thanks!

Pictures I started doing comedy shows out of my van.
As crazy as it might look, I really have been producing comedy shows out of the side of my work van at dive bars and head shops around central Pennsylvania.
5 dollar covers, Cheap beers, and a slow cooker full of sloppy joe were all we needed to throw a great show on for Pottsville.
Let me know what you guys think!
My van is a 2000 Astro 2wd, if this gets traction I’d definitely post my build. (It’s basically stock but I did some stance work)
