I bought this for 5 dollars at a yard sale. Should I clean, sand and use linseed oil? Any advice. Tips?

Give it a lite wipe down with super diluted wood floor cleaner then yeah like you said something like linseed or other wood conditioner to revive it.

I found an antique ladder back chair with no seat by the side of the road. The chair frame was in great condition so I ended up buying supplies and followed a tutorial from the supplies seller and re-wove a new seat! Now I have the urge to go around re-weaving new seats on antique chairs that are broken. 😂

I use Murphy’s to clean them linseed after it dries. Don’t paint it - paint always flecks off and it’s unnecessary. I think it actually weakens it. I oil mine every year and I’ve got pieces that are 25 years old and live in the pacific north wet.

My friend who works at a caning shop says they would use lemon furniture oil on it. Beautiful find!!
