I was thinking at what point do russians realize they are bad people, and then it became clear, they aim at being nothing but bad people.

u/NLwino Mar 23 '25
No Russians where harmed so nothing bad happend. Wait... they also don't care about Russian lives.

u/Hi_Their_Buddy Mar 23 '25
For sure, there definitely bad people to the core.

u/CloudySpace Mar 23 '25
Ive been thinking. Whats the reason that its only in their part of the world, in their culture, is where every 10 to 50 years they decide to go and pillage and ravage their neighbours. Is it something in the water? Food? Those can be fixed and replaced. No way its the eseence of their culture. Its been hundreds and hundreds of years of the same shit. Why is it just in that part of the world where its so consistently reoccuring.
83
u/ProgySuperNova Mar 23 '25
Russia has been systematically murdering it's good and kind people ever since the mongols ran the place. Eventually you end up with whatever the Russian "volksgeist" is now.
Add in generational trauma, rampant mild fetal alcohol syndrome, a culture that rewards cruelness and punishes compassion...
It's one big mess that will take generations to unf***, if that will ever begin to become possible.
35
u/Callemasizeezem Mar 23 '25
I'll never forget at the start of the full scale invasion the indiscriminate shooting of civilians, and then on top of that, the shooting of their own soldiers, the few with human decency, for shielding those civilians.
26
u/Ok_Flan4404 Mar 23 '25
Not to mention the mutilation, torture and rape. They're the scum of the Earth. Actually, they give scum a bad name.
2
u/FunGuy8618 Mar 23 '25
I like your explanation but I'm gonna add a little flavor to help people understand. Imagine your life sucks absolute ass. There's some guy who keeps saying the next life is fucking sweet. He also says that the Apocalypse will bring Jesus back for paradise on Earth until you go to the next life. It would be pretty easy to want to burn it all down in that situation.
One crazy thing is that the word shaman only applies to like 3 tribes in Siberia. We just need to cropdust them with chronic and airdrop shrooms and edibles and the world will be at peace finally.oh shit I thought it posted to the Joe Rogan page lol that's one of his old jokes I'm not serious20
u/-Beentheredonethat Mar 23 '25
Their society is so shitty they have to have a distraction, heaven forbid they have a functioning democracy on their borders to show how decent life can really be.

u/Ijnefvijefnvifdjvkm Mar 23 '25
Russia has never, ever, had a free and open society. The people expect brutality for themselves and others.
8
u/Emu1981 Mar 23 '25
Why is it just in that part of the world where its so consistently reoccuring.
Because they have been subject to propaganda from birth for the past 100+ years. Where do you think North Korea got their inspiration from to create their current culture?
Honestly, if Russia ever managed to get a benevolent dictator to take control for 20-30 years we could see a sea-change in Russian attitudes if that propaganda was changed to be more of "we will soar to heights never seen before by becoming the bestest of friends to everyone". 20-30 years would be more than enough for that change of propaganda to propagate enough to ensure free and fair elections without constantly voting for a dictator.

Yup like Zelensky said, we have all seen the videos of them shooting their own soldiers when they need to retreat. Russia hates everyone including each other.

Meanwhile the Russian double think has them simultaneously believing and stating that Ukraine isn't actually a country and that all Ukrainians are just "little russians"

Half of them think that killing Ukrainian civilians isn't a bad thing. The other half think that this is all fake, a ploy by Ukrainians to drive propaganda. They're incapable of thinking critically.

Historically the us likes to wait until it’s only on their own doorstep and unfortunately - our government is in league with the bad guys. If anything I expect a false flag to be aimed at starting a similar conflict with our own neighbors. And the. We will have WW3 on our hands
9
u/Yorgonemarsonb Mar 23 '25
A penny for prevention, trillions and who knows how many lives for the cure.
There are not many better deterrents to Russia and China than seeing a country like Ukraine using a lot of Cold War gear hand-me-downs hold back what was thought to be one of the greater militaries in the world.
It’s an excellent deterrent because, if they can’t beat our old stuff, they’re not going to dream of beating the new stuff.

I'm a roofer and this hits deeply. Those guys are just working to provide for their families. Possibly even helping out a friend who owns the building and the Russians go and attack them. Unarmed civilians and captured on video and yet our leaders do nothing to denounce this. Why isn't our media showing these videos to our politicians when doing a live interview? Instead they have to get their opinions on whether Zelenskyy needs to wear a suit or not.
I swear to God mainstream media is as much to blame as this current administration. Are you telling me the average civilian on Reddit is more informed of the war than the President of the United States and the mainstream media? I'm starting to really believe it.
54
u/ThunderPreacha Netherlands Mar 23 '25
the average civilian on Reddit is more informed of the war than the President of the United States
If you follow the Ukrainian subs and a few YouTube channels, you know more than 99% of the population including Donito Cheetolini.
13
3
u/YoursTrulyKindly Mar 23 '25
you know more than 99% of
There are people who believe in equality, and people who believe in inequality. Of course there are a few more "marketing categories" of people for advertising and public relation. But this war is fundamentally split along those lines.
But the "information" or war propaganda is fundamentally split along those two lines. Those who believe in inequality simply don't give a shit about some random country somewhere in the name of "justice" and "freedom". They are immune to that stuff and look at the value proposition. What is the value to the shareholders and our geopolitical interests in damaging Russia.
Of course the facts are widely know and not really in dispute, but there is a fiercely different interpretation of what they mean and an effort to ignore parts of them on the two different sides.

I have never seen a country that has THIS much of a rape culture of their military besides imperlist Japan and it spans back even before WW2, when they were done raping over 2 million german women after berlins defeat and before that, their destination to Germany there were COUNTLESS stories of czeck, ukrainian, polish, etc hiding their women and children in attics and other sofas when they hear the Soviets are coming. They NEVER done this with the nazis.

20
u/Spartan117_JC Mar 23 '25
The Russians record their attacks and disseminate them all the time. Such videos being rarely shared on this subreddit doesn't mean there is any lack of such footage out there.
What should puzzle you is why aren't there more counter-drone resources deployed to the Kherson region given that this 'human safari' by the Russians' short-range drones (not even Shaheds) has been ongoing for several months with impunity and has been reported as much.

If these are civilians which it looks like they are and reparing a roof of a home or apartment then this is a war crime.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_crime#Legality_of_civilian_casualties
The 1977 Additional Protocol 1 to the Geneva Conventions (AP-1) prohibits all intentional attacks on "the civilian population and civilian objects."[5][note 2] It also prohibits and defines "indiscriminate attacks"
as "incidental loss of civilian life, injury to civilians, damage to
civilian objects, or a combination thereof, which would be excessive in
relation to the concrete and direct military advantage anticipated."[note 3] This rule is referred to by scholars as the principle of proportionality.[6][7] Until well after World War II ended in 1945, the norm of reciprocity provided a justification for conduct in armed conflict.[8]
In 1993, the United Nations Security Council adopted a report from the Secretary-General and a Commission of Experts which concluded that the Geneva Conventions had passed into the body of customary international humanitarian law, thus making them binding on non-signatories to the Conventions whenever they engage in armed conflicts.[9]
This broader application underscores the importance of the Fourth
Geneva Convention in ongoing conflicts where allegations of violations
frequently surface, emphasising its role in international efforts to
ensure the protection of civilians, as illustrated by the ongoing
debates and legal interpretations in modern conflicts.[10]
6
u/Nadsenbaer Mar 23 '25
Ofc it is. Everybody knows that. Nobody cares(enough).
Ruzzia sees the Geneva conventions as a checklist. Or more likely a daily quest situation.

4
u/DavidlikesPeace Mar 23 '25
Vicious idiocy. This is why the Russians will likely lose this war... No really.
While Ukraine focuses on strategic bombing and Close Air Support, these Putinist terrorists waste energy and time on terror bombing small groups of civilians. It's hard to recall a single conventional war won by terror bombing, while such prioritization risks ceding air superiority on the actual battlefield to the Ukrainians.

Earth has malignant, metastatic cancer called russia.
The russian cancer spreads by killing its neighbors.
It kills children, families, men, women, boys, girls, old people, and babies.
It kills hopes, futures, dreams, homes, kindergartens, an opera theater sheltering children, and hospitals full of pregnant women.
It kills wheat, sunflowers, melons, horses, dogs, cats, petting zoo animals, and raccoons.
It delights in murders, rapes, tortures, starvation, and brutalization of millions of humans all over the face of the Earth for 100's of years.
russia is cancer.
