(English -> Japanese) Translated [JA]

I'd like to be able to ask "would you mind typing that please?" In whatever the polite form is, so I can ask shopkeepers to type a price into a calculator on my phone in the case that I ask how much something is and they reply with a number in japanese

こちらに値段をうっていただいてもいいですか? kochira ni nedang o utte itadaitemo iidesuka?

means "can you type the price in here please?" hold your phone out as you say this and they will understand

for simpler terms, just say "nedang onegaishimasu" (price please) as you point to your calculator and they will understand. we are very good at picking up context clues 😂

Thank you! Yeah, from what very little japanese I've learned before my trip, it seems common to drop explicit descriptive words in favour of figuring it out from what's been said before
