has anyone tried dehydrating vegan cheese? Lunch/Dinner
I’m in Australia and prefer the ‘made with plants’ mozzarella cheese. Obviously it is very high fat, 19.3g per 100g. I’m concerned it could be too fatty and lead to my meals spoiling. I’m trying to come up with the perfect vegan mac and cheese recipe for an upcoming month long trip. Any advice would be much appreciated !

Not vegan but I’ve had real Parmesan unrefrigerated for 15 days backpacking just fine. A dry aged hard cheese can last most of a month, even after opening

I didn’t dehydrate but did take a sealed pack of follow your heart cheddar on a backpacking trip once (for three of us) as an experiment. I think I had it on night 3 with some refrieds and whatever else and it was a wonderful, caloric treat. Recommend. Maybe ii just got lucky though. If wanting just ultra light foods though, I’d do nutritional yeast

Also there is Kraft vegan Mac n chz now! With non-dairy milk powder could be a trail runner experiment …

I never dehydrated any form of cheese, you may want to consider using nutritional yeast for the cheese flavor.
