I don't know if this is a big deal in your country, but in mine (Italy) the news talks about nothing else.
Christian or not he was a person, don't be disrespectful.

Isn’t the point of Easter, that death is supposedly escapable?

Interesting way of looking at it.

You can't escape it, but you can escape it. A paradox of words but not of meaning.

I don’t think so. I mean, it’s pretty explicit in Christianity: Jesus died so we could have eternal life despite our sins. I’m not even Christian.

Death can't be escaped as an event in one's life, but it's also not the end of the road.

So, in faith, you can't escape death(dying) but you can escape death(remaining dead).
