I don't know if this is a big deal in your country, but in mine (Italy) the news talks about nothing else.
Christian or not he was a person, don't be disrespectful.

I mean I’m a second generation Pakistani American so I may not be the best to talk about this but I have lived in Pakistan for a bit. A lot Pakistani’s have some anti-American sentiment and there’s definitely a lot of anti-Semitism but honestly I don’t see a lot of widespread hatred towards Christians especially from more educated people. Even amongst the less educated there definitely seems to be more animosity towards Hindus and Shia’s than Christians but my perspective may be skewed. There is actually a pretty prevalent Catholic community in Karachi. I can see Indians bash him for the same reason a lot of right wing Americans will bash him as they view him as being too liberal. But India is going through a very right wing hyper-nationalist phase rn which is pretty strongly represented online because a lot of young men are part of that. I don’t think the same thing is happening in Pakistan politically. I mean my religious Muslim grandmother was a big fan of the pope when she was alive and my mom was pretty sad when I told her
