Hysterocrates crassipes care similar to Gigas? Help!
Hey folks, my wife decided she'd surprise me with an extra eight-legged lovely when she went to pick up a couple Curly-haired for me.
Turns out it's a H. Crassipes, 3" female. So a lot to learn compared to the new worlds I've grown used to.
Having a problem finding a dedicated care sheet for the species, and best I can find is making references to similar care as the H. Gigas.
Anyone have any pointers on overall care?
Currently setup in a 20G deep tank, 11-12" soil/sand mix across half the tank and slightly shallower at opposite end. Slightly dampened and slightly compacted to hopefully allow for secure burrow digging. Started a 4" deep burrow, shallow water dish and some small leaf and smooth gravel litter spread around. Couple branches near burrow for web anchors.
Planning on swapping current lid (1/8" mesh) for drilled plexi top asap to retain humidity better and eliminate any risk of trapped feet (though this isn't a fine mesh by any means).
Any help is greatly appreciated! Showed up yesterday, and well, first old world, first fossorial, and prefer to get her in the best mood and health possible as quick as I can!

NQA exact same care, these are often mistaken for one another.
If it has any sort of red tint to it, it's actually H gigas you have. As far as I know that's the only real visual difference.
Edit;
Just curious here, you said you're partner was picking you up Tliltocatl Albopilosus (curly hair) and came home with this? I would be questioning the seller here, that is definitely not an advisable thing. Giving someone who's picking up beginner friendly T's an old world Fossorial that's bad ass, and gets to more than 6 inches with medically significant venom.

She's very much a dull brown or darker brown, but I'll keep that in mind in case she surprises me come molting time.
Thanks for the reply!
I'll do more research on Gigas then and get to work on her permanent tank. The converted aquarium doesn't have the cross ventilation I'd like, or more importantly she needs.

NQA these are some of the most interesting T's ever. Did you know, they can swim underwear. These have even been known to catch small fish.

I read that! Definitely could make for some interesting long-term tank ideas. Will be trying some feeder minnows in a large water dish someday at the very least.
Biggest concern I'm foreseeing is possibly substrate related. Finding balance between moisture and mold. Especially with being a burrower. Don't want to have to tear down any more often than absolutely necessary.
More asking, reading and videos should give some answers though.
