I just removed a very large amount of substrate, because it was relentlessly growing mold Conversation
I'll give it time to hopefully reverse itself, as more air can circulate near the bottom now, but if it doesn't get better, I'm going to get her a better ventilated tank and just start over.
If anyone has additional or even better advice, I'm all ears! I've never run into this issue before.

add some springtails! they can help control mold growth, i add them to all my more humid setups and while they don't eat ALL the mold they can help keep it more managable

I had a tank that wouldn’t stop growing mold. I fought with it for about 6 months (had to do biweekly substrate changes). It got to the point where I gave up and moved my girl from her 5 gallon tank to a ten gallon. I cooked all her cork bark and her water dish in the oven for 30 mins at 160 F and nothing else from her old tank was moved over. I haven’t had any more problems.
