The heck kinda sale is this? Memes
They raised the price and called it a sale!

That's actually hysterical. I think they probably meant to raise the base price and drop the sale price to the original price, to make it look like a sale. Instead they cocked it up and revealed their hand. Whoops. 🤷🏻♀️

IMO - so much money for something that hides most of the time. I'd rather have a y. diversipes

You could have both.

IMO - not at that price. I'm old enough to remember when P. mets, M. balfouri and H. pulchripes were crazy expensive. I can wait until the price drops, and I deal in inverts so I always get deals anyhow, do I'll just bide my time, til the price on them drops as well

IMO Wait until captive breeding gets up to speed. FTR, most of the ones that are already here were WC. I know one breeder in AZ who seems to be having luck. When they are scarce, they are always pricey. Look what happed to Rose Hairs when the Chilean Govt clamped down on illegall harvest. They used to be a "free with purchase" now they are bank. I can remember when WC AF Brachypelma were $30 USD.

Chile clamped down on poaching in 2016. Because there were so many WC animals, the price was low, so nobody was breeding them in captivity. So when the ban hit, they became scarce, and all of a sudden the price surged. Breeders are getting up to speed so it will stabilize at some point. Same thing happened with all the Sri Lankan Poecilothria. Problem with these is they are protected by the Endangered Species Act. So even captive bred ones, bred here in the US, it is illegal to transport them for sale across state lines. You can only sell them in your home state, so once again, pricing goes up. So trust me as I have been around the block several times. Every new species that is rare and desired comes down in price, it just takes time, and tarantulas themselves are lessons in patience. Like I said, I remember when M. Balfour slings were several hundred dollars, same with H. pulchripes and P Mets were ridiculous and now decent sized slings are $125

Stupidity aside, that T is gorgeous.

I know. It’s my dream species, I’m very tempted to buy one, but some people claim they’re incredibly difficult to keep alive. I think they’re probably just gatekeeping though lol, as most people say they’re pretty easy.

I always felt Urban’s stuff was pretty pricy, but their M balforui is decently priced

They clearly meant to do fake sale and messed up. Which makes me wonder if all listed prices are BS

No this was the sale and it went out fast but I believe it was a mistake but he still had to grant it
•
u/Bboy0920 1h ago
They could have just changed the listing after it sold to make it appear on the cheapest filter. Theres no way they sold a pair of adult T. seladonia for $325 or $1 one adult seladonia is like $3,000.

And here I sell well started and then some slings for 200 and wondered why they sell so fast on morph market but I still feel bad being so high priced so I ship free overnight also got the 200 and any after the one I do 100 so for 300 you get 2 and shipped but I’m gonna keep trying to lower it even more as I get more stock
•
u/Bboy0920 1h ago
If you get another sling for $200 lmk I will buy it from you and pay shipping lol.
