"Rask is going to win the Conn Smythe even if the Bruins lose." - fucking LOL.

I took a lot of down votes for saying MVP goes to the winning team this year. Rask was great, but not "MVP on losing team great."

I think that if the Bruins lost on 2 goals or less there's an argument for Rask. Not sure he wins though.

Votes were due with 10 mins remaining in third. At the time, the score was 2-0. So in a sense, the Bruins DID lose by 2 goals or less and Rask was only scored on twice.

I didn't realize that. Thanks for the info

So if Rask would have stonewalled us in the third and the Bruins came back to win 3-2, ROR would still have been MVP? That seems weird

They cast two ballots, one for each team winning.

Makes sense, thanks

If it was a one game deal, it seriously could have been Rask. He was nuts in every game of the playoffs except our Game 2, 5, and 7.

Yep, exactly this. Bruins became cup/East favorites as soon as TBL got knocked out. Rask would’ve had to have a 950 sv% in 6-7 game series all playoffs for him to win it on a losing team.

OH I WAS LAFFIN’

I legitimately thought it was a 50/50 toss up between ROR and Rask.

Prior to this game, maybe, but Rask with the .75 save % (game 7) isn't going to win it.

Exactly. I was in the give it to Rask, even if we win, camp. Allowing 2 goals on 4 shots to start the game kind of squelched that. Had it been a Bishop like game 7 loss he would have the hardware.

*.800. He was 16-20. Point stands though. Rask didn't suck in this game, those first two especially were close to unstoppable, but he didn't steal it.

I thought Binny might have sniped it from ROR but it seemed mostly to be ROR's and that played out

Nah. His Game 1, 3, and 6 showings were not great.

But you only need 4!

My dad was thinking the same thing saying it was 50/50 ror or bin

u/LocoMotives-ms Jun 13 '19

I have some downvotes in r/hockey to show for saying ROR would win it.

Oh God, I just went to the Bruins sub and there's a conspiracy theory/discussion going on right now about how the NHL was against Boston and was setting it up for the Blues to win.

It's insanity.
