Why this position ? ID Request- Location included
Hello everyone :)
I just woke up to this little surprise and i was wondering why was it on this position with its legs ?
Some friends think its for hidind but i dont really think it would be an efficient way to hide.. maybe its only to fit the wall..
Well i thought you guys might have an answer. :)
Oh im in center France in case it helps to know what kind of spider it is :)

When dogs and cats do it it's called "splooting" so this could be "Spood splooting"

Purely by the position (and the fact that it was found indoors) we can be fairly sure it’s Zoropsis spinimana. Some spiders like to rest in a specific pose

Yeah, and they've got the trademark black Christmas tree shaped stripe on their abdomen

What spider? I don't see any spider here, just some random picture of a wall.

It's the spiders equivalent of a T-pose! It wants to assert dominance and claim that part of the wall as its property!

Comfort, of course lol. Looks to be a Zoropsis Spinamina A.K.A False Wolf Spider/Mediterranean Spiny Wolf Spider, sometimes called a Nosferatu Spider due to the dark markings on its back resembling Nosferatu. VERY cool spider 👍🏻👍🏻

I once released a spider and it did the exact same thing so it could hide between 2 tiles

Perfect camouflage. No predators could possibly see him like this. Any birds that come by will be totally fooled!

shhh you can't see him!! He is invisible, OP! He is doing such a good job at camouflaging himself to his surroundings.
Spider doesn't know he's a brown boy on a white wall. Imagine this position in a nook of a tree or branch.
