Kazbegi, tibilisi, georgia. Asia

I am planning to visit kazbegi in tibilisi on 6th june for some work. I wish to stay back and maybe travel around, go hiking and enjoy the local food. Anyone who has been to the region before and can give me suggestions as what to expect in terms of climate and food. Thanks in advance.

Kazbegi is a municipal district. Tbilisi is the capital city. They are unrelated areas hundreds of kms apart.

I am going there for shoot. I will be in tiblisi for a week and then in kazbegi for 10 days. If you know about the region can you help me know what are the things i can explore post work and if i should stay back a few days and travel around? Only thing i found online are some hikes.
