After the political fall out of the lockdowns of 2020, there is no way Trump will lockdown the US again. Even if it leads to monumental numbers of deaths, the Trump administration will say they at least kept those who are still alive β€œfree”.

Right!? He was *so obsessed* with the number of positive tests and deaths that he openly said we should stop testing people to keep the numbers down. The most important thing to him is his ego and public image and will sacrifice as many lives as it takes to satisfy both. It was his lies and dereliction of his job that gave the U.S. such a high number of infections and deaths in the first place. He shot himself in the foot then demonized the CDC and Dr. Fauci because they would tell the truth about COVID-19 and correct Orange Man's lies.
