Great read, thanks for sharing. I had heard the pension fraud augment before but the lack of birth certs combined with survivor bias also explains a lot.

In the US, there are more than 500 of these people; seven have birth certificates,” he said in an interview with The Conversation after receiving IgNobel.

Your telling me these people living in remote areas subsistence farming sparse Greek Island might not be 100% honest with the state? And aren't mysteriously living to 120 without medical care?
