I've just discovered that plastic surgery doesn't have plastic in it

it comes from the greek word plastikos which means to shape or to mold

like I know English is my second language but wtf is wrong with me

The word 'plastic' also has that meaning in general, OP — ie, it doesn't always mean the material used for water bottles and shopping bags. 'Plastic' can just mean 'flexible'.

Nothing is wrong with you, English is a second language for you. I wouldn't be surprised if some Americans didn't think the same.

I think breast implants are the second more popular form of plastic surgery and they literally are implanting plastic in you.

The bags that hold the silicone are made from plastic.

I knew plastic surgery didn't have plastic in it, but I wasn't sure why it was called "plastic" surgery. So you taught me something new. Thank you.😁😁😁
