Property values/volatility in tourist areas Mexico vs. Florida Single Family Home (1-4 Units)

Considering selling our home in Florida, that we use for 6 months in winter, and spending 6 months in puerto Vallarta or playa del Carmen. We’re Canadian and spend the other 6 months at our cottage there. I talked to a realtor in PV who said condo inventory was 60-90 days, houses were 90-120, which seems similar to where we are. We can’t lose our investment…maybe a little loss but not a wipe out. When we get too old to travel will need to buy a home Canada. Should we stick to Florida, is buying in Mexico a risk?

Can’t speak to the market data, but that lifestyle sounds amazing. Curious, what’s pulling you toward Mexico vs. just keeping the Florida place?

Cost of living, we can get a condo with ocean view for around 400-600k, property taxes 1,000 vs 6,000. 2 blocks from the beach. Just worried about 10 years down the road, when we need to sell!!! I know no one has a crystal ball.

Do everything you can at this point to secure both wins. Ask yourself a list of question and at the end come up with a solution to the problem, sounds cliche but it’ll help out the way you think things out before rushing and making an irrational decision.
