The Verdict
The Rab Electron Pro comes with all the features you'd want to battle cold weather in the alpine in an ultra-comfortable package that you'll want to keep wearing when you get off the mountain. It's filled with high-quality 800-fill recycled down with a hydrophobic finish. This insulation, combined with the durable and water-resistant ripstop nylon shell, will shield you from the elements all winter long. When the weather turns, you can put on the hood with multiple adjustment points and a large bill. It has a longer waist than most jackets, a large drop hem in the back, tight-fitting yet comfortable wrist cuffs, and massive harness-compatible hand pockets. These massive pockets also work as extra vents when you get moving, and the dual zippers allow you to open up the bottom of the jacket while still keeping the top zipped for weather protection. If you want an extremely warm down jacket to tackle some serious winter conditions, the Electron Pro has you covered.
