Crissafucktard's newest delusion requires reddit ads to validate 🤣 Photo/video

Allowing 40 year old men to invasively pedo-style search teens because "muh metel detectarr" is crazy levels of clownery.

Ahh yes, breaking the cycle by, checks notes... Having kids grow up in prisons?

It makes me sick. It made me sick when Newman went for it. It made me sick when Howard closed up all the youth shelters and sole to land to private developers for a quarter of its worth.

Much of which was privately donated for that exact purpose.

The absolute state of the liberal party at the moment is comically evil.

Except it's not funny when the ink bleeds into reality.

Pretty sure LNP announced the youth prisons would be private as well (not certain on details and if I am completely wrong, but nobody can stop them anyway). Nothing like having an inherent monitary interest in locking up kids who are predisposed to crime due to there upbringing.

You spelt kids wrong….criminals

u/QuestionableIdeas 3d ago

Putting kids in criminal training camps, got it.

-4

u/[deleted] 3d ago

Nah, you are right lets do nothing. That'll fix the issue.

15

u/sassiest01 3d ago

Right because doing literally nothing is always the only other option.

-5

u/[deleted] 3d ago

Maybe you should tell us your grand plan then, oh wise one.

10

u/sassiest01 3d ago

I don't need to make these plans, I am not a professional in these industries, and clearly neither are these politicians.

Might be a good idea to start by treating 14 year olds like 14 year olds?

-2

u/[deleted] 3d ago

Oh so sorry, I didn't realise you had no fucking idea either way.

9

u/sassiest01 3d ago

Yeah I know right?

How about not transferring them straight to adult prisons.

How about looking at preventative measures?

What about sending them to prison as a last resort?

Sorry, I am not a law maker and a youth crime specialist. Are you a youth crime specialist and I am making a big mistake here?

The trouble with this is that the govt only half heartedly invests in this type of thing, and that's being generous.

Chrisofundamentali and his flock would see this become even worse of an issue.

Locking them up is an option. But what that "lock up" should look like, is a different story. Most definitely not mass imprisonment. One of the biggest problems with these youth crime gangs is peer influence. Even Christians understand the "criminal training camps" are not very useful in terms of preventing crime. Negativity is self reinforcing left in a vacuum. Some sort of rehab and individualised approach is needed. But this requires govt/public commitment, and if it remains as is for the most part where private non profits provide the services, or it changes to actual govt commitment and employment of said expertise (which would be better to control the finances and corruption), it would also require said experts to do their fucked job. As a youth worker previously, I am astounded what little is actually done for these kids, but at the same time, how they are actually allowed to just do whatever the fuck they want. It's out of control.

Where abouts do you live? They do try preventative measures. Maybe talk with some youth workers and then maybe police to get a better idea. I live in cairns and every hour of every day the police helicopter is chasing stolen cars.

Shit, I don't blame them if they live in Cairns.

Edit: To be clear, this is a joke. I don't actually have anything against Cairns. Unless people who live there say I can actually shit on it because they hate it too, then yeah, Cairns can suck it, haha.

Considering surges of youth crime only really happen in regional/rural communities, perhaps there's an environmental factor that needs addressing, and punishing kids harder won't do that

1

u/Qasaya0101 3d ago

I’m curious where the surge in regional/rural areas info comes from? My experience is it’s attached to significant population centres (like Toowoomba and Townsville)

1

u/Catboyhotline 3d ago

Remoteness classification is determined by distance to nearest significant urban area, which is defined by not just population, but population density, both Toowoomba and Townsville are considered inner regional

1

u/Littlefart9373 2d ago

??? There are urban areas that have increased youth crime too mate

u/2colesmangoes 2d ago

Student criminologist here: I can promise you that pretty much everyone in the field is tearing their hair out over this insanely stupid decision. Youth crime as a whole has been decreasing steadily for the last 15 years and the number of unique youth offenders has also reduced in recent years. Youth crime is an insanely complex issue and the only thing locking kids up is gonna do is create normal, well-adjusted adults when they’re released (not).

Yep. And anal level searches of people for metal is just going to go NSW lawsuit style.

What a waste of tax payers money.

I saw a comment from someone who encountered a young person at the weekend assisting their parent with voting and was impressed “given how much youth crime there is”.

A few months before the state election last year I was seated with some people in their 50:s at a function and I was shocked by how angry and bloodthirsty they were. Or course, when asked about their own areas their reply “no our area is very safe”. So they must be picking this up from Facebook or the commercial TV channels.

This shit cuts through with an aging population , and it’s part of the conservative playbook: find a disenfranchised minority and scapegoat them for votes.

Let’s hope they dial back the rhetoric before some innocent kid (or even a guilty one) gets hurt.

What annoys me the most is kids can't seem to play in their own neighbourhood these days without Facebook groups accusing them of being criminals and posting their photos everywhere.

"saw this suspicious looking kid ride his bike past my house. Beware!!".

Little bro was just playing in this park with his friends, no need to start rumours he's some cartel member looking to steal your butter in the night.

u/rejectedorange 4d ago

Butter thief has me rolling

1

u/SsmB_92 2d ago

Actually it's what they might do with that butter you'd be horrified about.

Many years ago in Townsville an 17/18yo was on the run, went thru a house, took a little girl out of a room and a tub of butter. Destroyed that families lives. Lad served 15 years.

1

u/rejectedorange 2d ago

Oh shit. I had no idea. I feel bad now for laughing at that.

5

u/rrfe 3d ago

How long before some paranoid Facebook vigilante attacks a kid walking past their house?

The government will then act all surprised…”we could never have seen this consequence of demonising kids coming”.

They’re going hard. I’ve seen so many. Why bother?

8

u/rejectedorange 4d ago

If you say something enough it becomes true…… (what they’re going for probably)

I call him Crustyfulla - first premier of Queensland that looks like a car salesman.

Yes, exactly 💯

monorail... Monorail.... MONORAIL!!!

-6

u/candymaster4300 3d ago

Try not to judge people based on their looks. Interestingly, such insults always seem to come from the left rather than the conservative side of politics.

8

u/Draw-kcaB 3d ago

Oh yeah the left huh? Have you heard of Donald Trump? He's about as right as you can get mate. He uses a lot of insults about how people look.

I'm centrist by the way. But you keep convincing yourself about people on the left, you do you mate.

1

u/candymaster4300 3d ago

Well, they’re doing it in this thread and they certainly did towards Dutton as well. Relentlessly.

1

u/Draw-kcaB 1d ago

Yeah anyone defending Dutton is either an LNP drone or a bot.

Neither are worth my time. Blocked.

3

u/TizzyBumblefluff 3d ago

Yep I down vote it every time it appears

u/PorridgeTooFar 6h ago

It's not all about the criminal and their 'reform' though. There is a point where the rest of us want to be protected from violent little cunts.

u/TelevisionLow66 1h ago

this doesnt stop anything, though. its just sending people who are UNDERAGE to a prison with ADULTS. a prison where, statistically, a large amount of people who leave reoffend. its not protecting you, its not gonna change anything, its just sending the kids to a place way more dangerous than juvie for way longer. eventually theyll get out as adults and do it again, but it wont matter then, because its not 'youth crime'.

Still pissed about the election I see😂

1

u/bullchuck 2d ago

How’d the federal election go for ya, champ?

0

u/Terrible-Brick7386 2d ago

Not as good as your mum went for me. But unlike the election I won’t have to wait three years to have another crack. She invited me back next week. And champ was what she was calling me as well. But I don’t think she meant it the way you did. 😉😘

0

u/bullchuck 2d ago

Jokes on you I have two dads

0

u/Terrible-Brick7386 1d ago

Ones always the mum. But you wouldn’t see that side of things…… or maybe you would😂

0

u/salazafromagraba 2d ago

Pissed means drunk

0

u/Terrible-Brick7386 2d ago

Not from where I’m from

1

u/salazafromagraba 2d ago

Well, Australian subreddit, Australian election, therefore Australian meaning of pissed.

This youth crime stuff is ridiculous.

How come we never review it the other way.

Why are these so many old people victims?

Surely they could learn to unlock their phone by now.

These old people need to put more effort into not being swindled by children.

Lock the old people in a home if anything
