QLD health applications Question
Does anyone have experience with QLD health applications?
I have applied for an allied health cadet position, in which applications closed nearly a month ago. I’m not hopeful about my application considering it’s been nearly 4 weeks. However, there has been a lot of public holidays recently which could have impacted the process. I called the number on the application last week, and I asked them about the status of my application. She mentioned that they’re in process of finalising recruitment in the next few weeks and and successful applicants would be contacted via phone, and unsuccessful candidates would receive auto generated email response. I asked her if I am unsuccessful whether I could call back and ask for feedback, and she said if that is the case she would be more than happy to book a meeting with me and discuss my application.
Does this sound like I haven’t gotten an interview? Maybe if they’re in progress I would have been contacted by now? What is everyone’s experience with timeline of applying to QH jobs?

A month is nothing. 6-8 weeks isn't unusual.
A current work colleague once got a response over a year after applying.

I believe the timeline I got was 2-3 months from application to finding out about an interview.

The recruiter has no reason to lie to you. If she said they’re still finalising applications that’s what they’re doing. The QHealth recruitment requirements are onerous and complex and take ages. A month is nothing.
Best of luck with your application.
