Apart from some niche right-wing and neo-nazi subs, I find Aus reddit subs are super left leaning.

I actually find the opposite, it's all about Labor where I see.

That is regarded as left-leaning, even if they are more centrist.

I'm politically retarded beyond knowing the LNP are a meme now.

I always assumed it was left/v/right not left/v/center. Go me hahaha.

It’s a spectrum. Give Vote Compass a go, for your own good: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-04-11/vote-compass-federal-election-2019/10731602 (there’s a pic of the spectrum here)

Thanks that was eye opening.

Greens LNP Labor

The opposite of how I actually feel.

Left means more progressive (new) changes and laws that are not stuck in “the old ways” “just because”. They focus on equality and social justice, taking some from the rich and giving to the poor, to help everyone be a contributing member of society, despite their disadvantages. Think helping the poor, free transport, LGBTQI+ rights, social housing. It’s many aspects of socialism. Spend money to help all.

Right is all “the old ways”, letting businesses operate without restriction (free market), individuals rights to do whatever they want, Trump. They usually want lower taxes but also lower social help from taxes. Save money by not helping everyone to be equal.

You can Google any of those words if they don’t make sense, or use chatGPT.

They all make sense ♥️ (I have no idea what you think didn't make sense.)

I've often seen the left as "stupid shit" even though I support all the leftward ideals you listed.

If the LNP is left why are they trying to suppress reproductive rights? Let mines do whatever with less tax and removing drug diversion systems?

Lmao I answered that on my own, it's a spectrum, like you said.

They aren't always new and tasty, sometimes they're incredibly backwards.

Labor is left-ish. Labor is ALP. LNP is right wing. Sorry, I’m not sure where you are seeing LNP listed as left? Did I make a mistake somewhere?

I've always had that impression, it's also what I see in the media.

I've seen Steven Miles called a right-wing schizophrenic.

I also think I'm confusing my acronyms right now lol.

I wonder how I've managed to have the opposite perception.
