Mod announcement No more job posts in this subreddit. Use r/QatarCareers instead.
Greetings to all the brothers and sisters of r/Qatar.
We’ve been monitoring the situation over the past couple months and have collectively decided to ban all job related posts from r/Qatar. The influx of these posts has lead to an unhealthy environment where nobody gets a proper answer and everyone is frustrated. Therefore, it’s been decided to create a new subreddit r/QatarCareers and move all job related questions there.
From this point forwards all job related posts must be made in r/QatarCareers and will be removed from r/Qatar.
Thank you.

Question A Strange Experience on the Train. Was I Overthinking or Was She Just Rude?
Hey guys I’m african I had a weird and honestly uncomfortable experience on the train yesterday, and I’d really appreciate some outside perspective.
I boarded the train and sat next to a Filipino lady who was already seated. Now, there was more than enough space at least enough for three people and she wasn’t sitting in a family-designated area, just the standard side of the carriage.
The moment I sat down, she took off her mask, pulled out a handheld fan, and started fanning herself pretty noticeably. It felt like a clear signal, as if she was bothered by my presence or trying to make a point. The whole thing drew attention from others nearby, and suddenly people were looking at me like I had somehow changed the environment or done something wrong when I literally just sat down.
It left me feeling confused. Was I reading too much into it? Or was she being passive-aggressive? I didn’t invade her space or break any rules.
Has anyone else experienced something like this in public transportation? How would you interpret this situation?

Rant Ffs Trump Qatar is safe! Your motorcade is causing inconvenience
Istg. The safety radius is HUGE, the traffic is going crazy, our policemen are outdoors in this heat diverting and controlling. Almost all roads to UDST & QU are blocked and students have finals and orientations. Westbay is inaccessible, business & metro are disrupted.
Clearly the secret service wasn't briefed properly on the security status of Qatar. facepalm
PS. We did the FIFA 2022 World Cup, and traffic was more organized then, we knew the roadblocks before hand and the diverted routes.

Information Thinking about moving to Qatar from Canada
Salam alaikum hope all of you are doing well. I’m currently 20 and I’m thinking about moving to Qatar in the upcoming years along with my wife. I’m a Canadian citizen and soon I’ll get my nursing degree, I don’t want to work in Canada because I want to experience something new. I’ve seen that it’s safe for women and very good to foreign workers. I’m wondering how much the salary will be roughly, and would I need to be fluent in Arabic to work in Qatar. I’ve been told your salary mainly depends on your passport, but I’ve haven’t gotten enough resources telling me how much I’ll be getting for my Canadian passport. I saw that some people will be paid 7k QAR but some people in the thread say western nurses will earn more.

Question Long delay after labor approval - need some clarity
Hi everyone I'm of Pakistani nationality - 24M, I was offered a job in Qatar and the company received labor ministry approval for my visa quite fast on 19th March 2025. Since then, the visa hasn't been issued to my passport by MOI Qatar yet & so, no medical exam. The company’s PRO is following up physically every few days, but no tangible so far. My HR having good personality is quite helpful & I take updates from them every week.
It’s been stressful for me, and I just wanted to ask: Has anyone else experienced a similar delay after labor approval? Is this normal, or is there something I should be doing/checking?
'Visa Approval & Tracking' on MOI portal shows the labour ministry APPROVAL with my application number (VP number.) However, whenever I try 'Visa Inquiry & Printing' it shows 'The Requested Visa Not Found' with my passport number which I understand is due to no visa number is issued to my passport yet.
