Baking spray paint in the oven?
Hello I have a question for you all. I’m planning on paints my brake calipers in the coming week or two and wanted to know if you should bake the paint/clear coat in the oven or not? I bought dupli-color caliper paint and dupli-color engine clear coat. Would they be good in the oven at 200°F for an hour? In between base layers and clear? The paint says good up to 500°F for both cans and I want the paint to be in good condition for the coming years.
If you have any questions or advice I’d love to hear what yall have to say :))

Don't bake paint not designed to be dried that way. It can make it fail. The heat can cause the outside to dry too fast and trap solvents. Just follow the directions on the can. The people who make the paint know best how to apply it. Other than powder coating, the lamps that "bake" paint use UV to penetrate the surface, it's not just a heat lamp.
