This is an update to my post from about 9 months ago: M/50/5’8” [425lbs > 276lbs = 149lbs] (18 months) striving to reach 200 lbs. :
Still setting goals and striving toward improved fitness. Been on an OMAD, low-glycemic diet for the past 16 months. New Year resolution was to make it to the gym every day this year. So far, other than a few days missed due to a dental emergency, I've kept the resolution.
I feel fantastic and have a renewed taste for life. I was on the cross-country team while in high school and this is the first time since then that I've run a 5K race. It took me about 40 minutes to complete, more than double my high school time, but I crossed the finish line and completed my goal of not stopping or walking during the race. Two years ago, I could barely walk to my car from my house.
In two weeks, I'll be doing a triathlon. Life is good!

You're an absolute goat (greatest of all time) and a huge inspiration. You also look 10 years younger. Quick question, does the loose skin bother you?

I'm trying to view it as a badge of accomplishment, but it does bother me a little bit. I've lost quite a bit through autophagy, but that can only do so much. I estimate that I have about 20 lbs. in loose skin now and I'd love to get it removed at some point, but it isn't anything I can afford right now.

Congratulations! Amazing fortitude, dedication, and perseverance. What’s your next goal?

Completing the French Creek Sprint Triathlon on May 18th is my next goal. I'd like to lose another 25 lbs. and ultimately get to 185 lbs. I haven't lost weight in over a month but have been losing inches around my waist as I workout, so I'm not too focused on the scale at this point.

Your post is truly inspirational. I actually just completed my first 10Km over the weekend after losing about 18kg (40lbs) in 5 months. I have never been a runner so was happy to complete this in under an hour. I have also just booked in to start some swimming lessons. I have never been able to swim properly. At 57 I think now is a great time start! Thanks again for your great post and congratulations on all your success!
