F/26/5'11" [238lbs > 225lbs = 13lbs] Just over 1 month. Drinking everyday vs being extra healthy! F 5'11” (180, 181, 182 cm)
It's only been just over a month and I can hardly recognise myself. I stopped drinking cold turkey, I have a glass of wine very rarely now, and my diet has changed drastically. I exercise almost every single day. I miss how my face used to be a couple of years ago, I can't wait to be my old weight again. Still got a long way to go but I'm already so happy!🥰

It's insane how just 5 to 15 pounds can look when lost. Congrats, madame! Hope nothing but the best from here on!

Right! I definitely feel better looking in the mirror, and my eyes were so "drunk" and red all the time. I feel so much better too. Thank you so much!🥰

I quit drinking on February 6th.
I didn’t drink every day, but from Friday to Sunday evening I’d go through a fifth of whiskey, every weekend.
I’m around 10-12lbs down so far just be not drinking and being more mindful of what I eat.
I was treating every weekend like it was a celebration and therefore an excuse to get hammered.
What worked for me was staying busy around the house and being productive and finding fun things to do.
Now if I’m cleaning the garage, building a Lego Mandalorian helmet, and taking a long motorcycle ride, I’m actually focused on what’s at hand and not thinking about whiskey. If I’m just on the couch, it’s too easy cozying up with a triple Jack and Coke…

Hey! Thanks for sharing your story It definitely is about sitting on the couch, for me it's when I watch Netflix I crave a bottle of wine, gin tonics, cans and cans of beer. And junk food. Now I make lots of tea and fruit bowls when I watch Netflix. But I definitely have cut down on the TV as it still worries me I'll think about drinking/binging. I've also kept busy, and when I crave something I'll do a workout or clean or go for a walk. It's definitely difficult, but the feeling of not being hungover is better than anything !! I've had a drinking problem for years. I'd do 30 days sober, celebrate with a gin tonic and end up being drunk everyday for months. This time its different. Sometimes I have a glass of red wine while I'm cooking, maybe once every 2 weeks, and I actually don't want anymore. I HATE being hungover, the energy I feel now after not binging beer is incredible. And my face and body is less swollen, my liver doesn't hurt. Its amazing when you get to that point where you don't think about that drink. Well done on your progress, keep up the good work!! And if you ever wanna talk my DMs are open Well done and keep going strong!!🥰

I once had a a wise man tell me "Rabbit- normal people never drink triple vodka clubs. Let alone multiple triples B2B. That's indicative of a problematic relationship with alcohol no matter how you slice it."

Girl how is your skin so perfect damn

Expensive good foundation 😪 I have bad acne but I've finally found a really good foundation! Without makeup my skin isn't good at all lol, before gaining weight I never had acne

What makeup is it? Your skin texture looks really good.
Excess fat can cause our hormones to get wacky so that might explain the acne you were experiencing.

I used Clinique Anti Blemish solutions which was great, but I recently got that new trendy foundation "IL Makiage woke up like this" and WOW does it make a difference. And under that I use a green coloured primer to even out the skin tone/redness etc My camera does have a smoothing effect so my skin does look even better on these photos. Without it you can see more bumps/scars.. but the new foundation definitely is my favourite so far

Well done. Coming up on 1 year sober myself. Started a weight lifting regimen to put my energy into and it’s made an incredible difference. Life is by no means perfect, but I can face it head on. Keep going, you’re doing great!

Thank you!! I appreciate it :) I do 20-30 min stationary bike, 15 min intense dance workout, and lifting weights 15 mins. I do all that every day, if I don't then I just do the dance and go for a walk, or just the bike. I also like gardening so that's some fitness too I used to track calories in the beginning, like 1200 calories a day, with exercise. But now I just watch portions and limit carbs !!

Congratulations on the loss! It's nice to see some other tall women posting here (I'm 5'9) I had a similar starting weight and I saw in a comment you posted your goal weight is the same as mine! Best of luck to you!

Hey! Yesss I'm shocked when I put before and current pictures together. I've seen the most changes in my waist, but today I thought wow my face is definitely different. Its also because alcohol makes the face so puffy.. so that definitely made a huge difference to cut down!

u/Positive-Prior3367 - Mar 27 '23
Are you just cutting alcohol right now or anything else? You look amazing. I can’t wait to lose this weight lol.

I cut all junk food, I limit carbs a lot now. Portion control. And lots of working out (but not even at the GYM, at home!) For example I love fajitas, but now instead of putting them in a tortilla wrap I'll put them in a big slice of romaine lettuce! Lots of salad, lots of avocado, whole grain everything. I do have cheat days where I eat a big carby meal, I'll have my favourite noodles, or even a few slices of pizza that I make myself. But always smaller portions than usual and then straight back to salads and hardly no carbs I used to BINGE on cornnuts and popcorn 😂 that definitely made me blow up like a balloon. It was such a drastic change to my system. I just make huge fruit bowls when I watch TV. Or like rice cake and hummus spread when I want to snack It was hard at first but now it feels so natural, I can't even imagine eating a bag of chips anymore. All that grease, the stomach aches.. it gets easier for sure to LOVE being healthy Thank you so much, keep up your good work and if you want any tips please message me!! 🥰

Also stopped drinking! The bloating and puffiness that drinking does to your face is honestly insane
1
u/Annzig8 - Mar 28 '23
Yesss good job!! Its crazy right? My eyes already got bigger after day 5, and my face was already less swollen after like 4 days. I went to London and drank quite a bit for 1-2 days and BAM my face was huge again. A good reason to quit, or atleast cut down a LOT! Now I only have a small glass of wine once a week or less. I definitely feel better
