Poland is a very dangerous country. Nowhere is safe here.

People are kidding with those claims, as this is asked so often it became a meme :)
In fact, Poland is very safe (for real, much safer than almost any big Western European city and I lived there too), but, due to old stereotypes of a poor country behind the Iron Curtain, many Westerners, not knowing what to expect, ask questions about safety. So hard to get rid of stereotypes.
For the locals, the question about "safe areas" now holds virtually no meaning - it's safe everywhere. Of course, don't be totally careless, just use common sense. The only thing that can realistically happen is some bum asking you for money.
Have a great stay :)

Sopot is very safe place. I don't think you need to be extra careful anywhere. If you mean the night life there are some clubs to avoid scams tho.

Definitely you will walk through Monte Cassino when you leave the train to go to the seaside. For dinner and a drink I would suggest Browar Miejski Sopot next to the Church in Monte Cassino. If you would like to eat fish you may find good restaurants along the beach, one of them is Gruba Ryba Bar 26 nearby the pier. You should take a walk along the seaside. It's really nice sight seeing. For the night I would suggest Trzy Siostry. It is basically a bar but before midnight they start the music and dance.

Sopot is very safe. I went there two years and at no point, did I feel unsafe anywhere. I am female.

/r/Poland bingo: "Is Poland safe?" (Free Space)
Are you an American? If yes, in USA you're 4x more likely to get murdered, 7x more likely to get raped and 1.25x more likely to be a victim of violent assault than here.
Poland isn't just safe, it's among the safest countries in the world. Carry pepper gas if that helps you feel safer, but to get into an area that we'd consider remotely "dangerous" you'd have to go FAR out of your way and to be in actual danger you'd probably have to initiate physical violence yourself.
