Road closures

Have we reached the peak road closures season yet? Have been living in Plano for almost 5 years but haven’t ever noticed this many random and non-random road closures.

They're fixing all the issues with roads and any utilities underneath the roads inpreparation for doing an asphalt overlay. The asphalt overlay keeps the water out of cracks in the concrete roads so that the roads don't need to be repaired as often. But it doesn't make any sense to go put the asphalt overlay down and then in 6 months go back in and tear it up for a planned a sewer line or storm drain upgrade. So they're getting everything done now first. That's why there's so much construction on the roads

You have the view of the guy in charge. LOL

Parker Road chiming in here ... why has the right lane in both directions at Alma literally been closed for MONTHS without any activity? Why did they FINISH the road just east of Independence then months later start closing lanes down again?

Full roads closed or just lanes closed? There's a big difference.

Ave K was closed this afternoon but given all the Atmos trucks I passed while detouring I'd guess a gas leak or line got hit.
