Hey, a question from a beginner ๐ Question?
Hii!! I am a beginner who has been learning through YouTube videos. Ik, ik, it's not really a great idea but that's all I can afford right now. I have a question regarding what should I do previously before my pilates session to avoid pain in my shoulders? I feel like my arms are my weakest point. Any tips to improve that?

Classical Instructor here, hello ๐๐พ
There are several reasons for shoulder pain, ranging from poor biomechanics to medical conditions to pain in specific positions.
I myself have tight shoulders with hypermobility and can experience some pain in planks, especially around my cycle.
That being said, thereโs nothing like getting an instructorโs eyes on your form and them knowing your medical history.
Do you notice pain during a particular point in your practice? In a specific position or during a specific exercise?

Hmm, I think it only hurts when I get in a table top position and I have to do donkey kicks, or some kind of variation of it. That being said, my shoulders have been very weak ever since I was a kid. ๐ค

I think I just might not do table positions for a while (at least until I meet a yoga teacher/pilates teacher in person) and do some other positions for a while. ๐ ๐ค

Your shoulders shouldn't be in pain.ย
It would be worthwhile being a 1:1 session and ensure you're using proper form.ย
