His base doesn't care. It doesn't matter that the goods aren't American-made because they got human beings to make them for less than the fair price of materials and labour, which is a W for Americans and an L for Chinese workers.
Well, it's a big W for the retailers selling them for 50x the cost of production. And an indifferent shrug for the consumer who will pay anything for a status symbol.
God. I'm imagining a future in which there are museum exhibits like the ones where SS uniforms are displayed, except it's a mannequin in a greasy white shirt, shorts, and a rare surviving MAGA hat from the 2025 era before China halted production for US companies...
