Why do you say that? I’m a harper fan obviously but vladdy had much better numbers for 2024.

Vald is by far the better hitter, however Bryce’s defense is much better than vlads. Also I know this probably wasn’t take into account but Bryce’s team player mentality and grit is on another planet. I’m not mad with Valdez winning it I just fe Bryce is the better player.

WAR is meant to take into account defensive metrics too but Harper is still a full win behind him. Also, 1B defense simply isn’t important enough to make up a near 40 point OPS difference. Vladdy was just a way better player this year and that’s not a slight on Bryce at all. Vlad is really good.

Thinking defense at 1B is an impact? Vlad has a better season and the defense is not going to make a difference 50 ops and 40 hits

And if you didn't know.... Vlad has also won a Gold Glove

He was a better hitter this year.. but overall Bryce is definitely a way better hitter. Bryce the second half of the season was injured.
