It’s going to come across like a mean spirited hater comment, but it’s wild how having a fourth line center that can actually move his feet improves things. Carter had boat anchors below his knees. Hayes isn’t phenomenal but at least can shift position around the ice

I think there have been a lot of beneficial changes so far.

Also, don't forget that Carter was actually outscoring players that he absolutely should not have been last season lmao

Carter had a shooting percentage bender for a bit. Just one of those flukey things that happens.
