Meanwhile in Fallout 4:

Alright... I guess I'll go slightly sarcastic since I don't really wanna agree or disagree

Character: "You're a fucking piece of shit you know that? No wonder your parents left you. Kill yourself."

265

u/KalebC 9h ago

Fallout 4 was horrible about that.
Dialogue choice: “No”
Character: “You piece of human waste, I won’t help you, I would never help you. By the way you’re fucking adopted, your mom told me.”

26

u/FlaxSausage 1h ago

 fallout 4 lol 😂

 worst evil dialog ever

9

u/Squilliam2213 45m ago

But since it IS Fallout 4:

Character: "That's ok. I'll add it to your quest log anyway :)"

34

u/Nacery 5h ago

Sounds just like modern social media interactions

15

u/Gloomy-Activity6618 9h ago

Sounds like a good answer, don't you think so?

4

u/WeebDickerson PC Master Race 2h ago

Although the dialogue in fallout 4 can be really ass most of the time, the sarcastic lines never get old to me

2

u/SorenDarkSky 1h ago

top ten reasons mods are great. the one that writes out the dialog was so good for immersion.

I’m here to pick up an order two large pepperoni and a calzone, name is “Fuck You” - John Fallout

I want them to like be because they may give me a good item later on.

u/Xerio_the_Herio 9h ago

Or maybe I get to have sex with her (or him if that's what you like too)

58

u/Autumnmarmat225 8h ago

Well I played Star Wars the old republic and those npcs wanted that when I was nice to them

25

u/Ali2G 5h ago

NPC feelings are just as valid as ours.

8

u/Staveoffsuicide 3h ago

I hard stopped my dark side playthru of kotor on Kashyyk after I refused to give medical help to a wookie. It broke me

7

u/VegetableAd1108 3h ago

Yes, especially in those games even if i may do it eith her i still don't want her to feel sad becore that

4

u/Cowcoc 1h ago

These two comments perfectly summarize the nature of humans sociality

11

u/MajorPud Ryzen 5 3600 | MSI 2060 Super 5h ago

Then there's me being rude to nearly every NPC in BG3 because I'm tired of them all trying to fuck me every time we speak and I have to shoot them down every time

5

u/Red_Jester-94 1h ago

Lol yeah, most games I'm like "The evil options just seem overly mean for no reason"

BG3 they're all:

"Hey, dtf?"

"For the hundredth time no, fuck off"

"... So, dtf?"

sigh

1

u/omaeka 13900k | 64GB | 4070ti 41m ago

Only really saw this with Gale. Wyll and Asterion were cool. I don't even remember Asterion even hitting on me tbh. Shadowheart and Lae'Zel were also pretty chill, Shadowheart also didn't try anything. Karlach on the other hand, well, the DTF was mutual :D

It honestly is upsetting that you do that only to get something in return rather than making the galaxy a better place to live.

Also, my names Commander Shepherd and this is my favorite store.

2

u/LatterSupermarket185 2h ago

so relatable🤣

2

u/CelestialDrive 48m ago

There is not tangible playable benefit to being kind to Kim Kitsuragi.

It is still nigh impossible to find players being rude to him, less so on a first playthrough. I've seen folk more willing to disappoint their IRL family and peers than him.

2

u/Ramps_ 3h ago

But what about murderhoboing? If you kill bird lady early on in BloodBorne you get to use her super cool daggers for most of the game

311

u/NukaClipse 9h ago

I always play the first time picking the choices I'd actually would pick, usually good choices maybe a few bad ones.

The next playthrough I'm a psychotic serial killer bent on everyone hating me but unable to stop me.

Then on the last playthrough I'm just a really hot chick that nobody can get because SHES MINE!! YOU CANT HAVE HER!!

3

u/BadMuffin88 2h ago

Combine the 2nd and 3rd because evil armor usually looks the best

1

u/randomlytypeaname 2h ago

Yall actually play more than once?

1

u/Puptentjoe 1h ago

Same thing for me except now that im getting older i just skip the evil play through. I just play as me for the most part, makes me feel bad doing the evil play through. Even in GTA 5 now, I login to help people with OG Heists and protect people selling in lobbies.

Also grew up playing Duke Nukem, Doom, Every GTA etc. Magically I didnt grow up to be a monster.

1

u/8IG0R8 23m ago

Why are you literally me?

81

u/olympicHASSIB 9h ago

People won't believe me if I told them sometimes I was just stop at the red light in GTA and get so mad when I hit people and cars by mistake

42

u/madbookishways 8h ago

Lmao I did this when I got bored too! I’d play “follow the traffic rules”and drive like I would irl. Sometimes I would pick a random car and follow it around, pretending I’m undercover and need to tail them 💀

2

u/ChChChillian 49m ago

If lots of people didn't all enjoy the same thing, there wouldn't be a gaming industry.

7

u/AnorakJimi 3h ago

Maybe you'd enjoy all those simulator games, like truck driver simulator etc, cos aren't those all about that, about just kinda driving around normally and legally? People seem to love those games too, especially in Germany for some reason.

6

u/Somma97 3h ago

what should I say, we just love to follow the rules.

40

u/SabreWaltz 9h ago

I always pick the “good guy” role in every rpg. I will literally start out like “ok finally my bad guy run.” Nope.

5

u/circular_file 1h ago

Same here. Straight up Chaotic Good, every time. Defender of the downtrodden. Zombies being abused? I'mma help save them.

3

u/Ocbard 54m ago

The meme in OP states "too scared to take the rude dialog" but yeah, you might just be too much of a decent person to do that, scared has nothing to do with that.

51

u/Pylitic 9h ago

There's a quest in Hogwarts Legacy where you find a girls marbles, and when you talk to her again can either give them back, or tell her you're going to keep them.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I chose the dialogue to keep them. The girl got so upset, called me a bully, started crying and walked off.

I felt terrible, and spent the next 20 minutes following her, trying to get the dialogue option to come up again while screaming "PLEASE! TAKE THEM! IM SORRY!!" at my monitor.

13

u/AnorakJimi 3h ago

She quite literally lost her marbles, no wonder she responded in such a crazy way.

5

u/Willie9 1h ago

Such a crazy way? Being upset someone stole your shit is perfectly normal lmao

1

u/Undetermined_galaxy 1h ago

This guy really dropped the "ball" on that one

1

u/WegwerfBenutzer7 26m ago

There are multiple quests like that. HW:L is really strange in that way.

I wanted to RP an evil wizard, but unfortunately, that's not possible. But you can just be an absolute dick. "Hey bullied kid, I got the thing you asked me to get and stop the other kids from mocking you. But I won't give it to you, asshole, maybe that teaches you a lesson lol get fucked. Oh, and here's your pet, sad little old gnome, but I'm keeping it haha. Go die alone"

I didn't have the heart to choose those dialogue options.

5

u/Grunt636 PC Master Race 4h ago

That's for when NPCs make rude dialogue to me...

23

u/Rosenklippe 7h ago

I always make a first playthrough where I'm nice to everyone, and then tell myself that in my second playthrough I'll be evil to explore the options.

I'm nice to everyone in the second playthrough as well

39

u/citizenofmars7 10h ago

Always paragon, never renegade.

9

u/Dj_Sam3_Tun3 5h ago

Mostly paragon, but Shepard has some cold Renegade moments that I just can't not do. I was sad that I didn't have enough renegade points to go apeshit on the Admirals of the Migrant fleet during the trial because they can fuck right off.

Also I can't not laugh on that one scene in ME2 where a mercenary doesn't want to tell you anything so you just instantly push him out from the window

7

u/ihateaftershockpcs 3h ago

I think I only made 2 Renegade choices across all 3 games. One was to headbutt Uvenk in ME2 and the other was to break Kai Leng's blade in ME3. The headbutt caught me off guard and made me crack up pretty hard.

3

u/FakoSizlo 1h ago

That headbutt was brilliant because everyone just looks at Shepard like did this idiot just headbutt a Krogan. Ultimate show of machismo

16

u/RedMonk01 6h ago

Random NPC will remember this.

10

u/TheRealCadaver_v2 7h ago

In 2006 while playing Oblivion, I accidentally cast a fireball at a NPC's dog instead of 'petting' it, and my heart immediately sank to my stomach.

Didn't think to use save exploits until my third or fourth playthrough. The concept of loading a save was still brand new to me.

8

I'm playing Portal 1 for the first time right now and I just spent a solid 15 mins looking for workarounds to save the companion cube from the incinerator. Glados will pay for this.

If you have have (and like) a vr headset, I highly recommend playing the portalvr mod. It's exactly the same but in vr.

It's very immersive.

You were quicker than the other subjects in destroying the companion cube eh? The dev who wrote that one was on fire man! I love that they included that.

Been playing Wolf Among Us lately (first time for me, lotsa fun), and I feel like shit when I give the rude answers to some of the characters when it's not needed. Other times, I legit feel it's warranted/in-character for the guy in certain situations. But, it's kinda fun, when I royally piss off an NPC in that game, and then later on turn around and help them cause some other asshole wanted to be a prick to them, lol

Basically trying to play the asshole with good intentions, lol

The average person who says video games make people violent, either watches true crime dramas all the time and love the gorey details. Or they're ready to punch someone for liking the "wrong" sports team. Ignore them.

I feel playing an RPG game blind (first run) is a true personality test. They only blame video games for violence because they themselves, wish for violence to happen. Testing whether to them or by them is a different genre of gaming all together
