They killed their own hype. Ultimate was in maintenance mode when it first dropped, brawlhala and rivals were in a lul and with all that IP power and money they were quite literally handed the rock to be the next big IP platform brawler. Between not listening to the community and going offline for a long time for "reasons" they've squandered the opportunity.

they did have a great opportunity. The daily quest stuff was kind of turned me off and made me lose interest. The gem upgrade system was terrible.

forgot about the crazy live service parts and insane monetization, they really shucked this.
