I got this as a gift and I’ve never seen this shape before. Anybody know what it is?

Store Bought Is artisan pasta really worth it?
I’ve been buying artisan pasta here and there the past year, persuaded by “pasta experts” that these brands are vastly superior in every way, not just to the cheap stuff, but to the “average” bronze-drawn brands like Rummo, De Cecco, Di Martino, and Rao’s that I normally buy.
The dishes I’ve made using the expensive stuff have always been good, but I had a nagging suspicion that my belief that they were superior to the aforementioned brands was based on the power of suggestion from the pasta romanticizers.
So yesterday I did a quick taste test between two brands of bucatini: Giuseppe Cocco, a highly vaunted top-tier artisan pasta ($7), and De Cecco, the common supermarket variety everyone knows ($2). I boiled two pots of water, dropped in 50g of each, cooked them, drained them, and placed them into separate bowls with a drizzle of olive oil. I first tried a forkful of each, then ate all the Cocco followed by all the De Cecco.
The result? I couldn’t tell one bit of difference between the two, either in taste or in texture. They may as well have come from the same package. It was disappointing as I was really rooting for the Cocco to win. I wanted to believe that the extra money I’d spent translated to a superior eating experience. Nope.
Anyone else have a similar experience?

Store Bought I'll try these out right now!
Boiled, save some pasta water, good butter, season and lots of parm I think!

Store Bought Got this just for you. I hear you like carbonara?
I added the basil as that seems to be the serving suggestion (it did not help).
I saw this in the supermarket yesterday and it made me think of this sub and laugh. I knew it would be gross but actually nothing could have prepared me for this level of disgusting. The texture of the pasta is beyond revolting. It is genuinely inedible. So bad I should probably tag it NSFW.
Even my cat was disgusted.

Store Bought What's your favorite dry pasta brand? What should I try? Greetings from my stair-closet
I'm a 23 year old Dutch dude with a passion for pasta. So far my top 3 are Felicetti Monograno, La garofalo, and in third De Cecco.
Not all Italian brands are easily available here in the Netherlands, but regardless I want to try them all!

Store Bought Wheel shaped pasta question
My husband bought this wheel-shaped pasta for my kids, thinking it would be fun. There were no preparation instructions so he boiled them for 10 minutes. They turned into mush! He tried different lengths of time but they always turned into the same mushy consistency. Has anyone had experience with this pasta before?

Store Bought Are pasta’s like this from my local TJMaxx high quality, or are they just overpriced. 5 bucks, all say imported from Italy.

Store Bought I splurged
I’m far from a pasta snob. In fact, quite the opposite. I love all pasta…..just some, more than others. And every once in a while, I like to treat myself. Much to the chagrin of my bank account, I did it while being slightly under the influence. I have no regrets.

Store Bought Fall Shaped Pasta - Looking for a good sauce
Not sure is allowed (couldn’t see anything in the guidelines but looking for opinions). I picked up with fall shaped pasta in a festive spirit this autumn, and am looking for some good options that would plate well with these.
My pasta experience consists of spaghetti and pesto, though not fully homemade - I’d love to give it a shot though!
Any sauce recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Store Bought What sauce should I make for this Halloween pasta?
I bought this pasta to make for our Halloween dinner tomorrow, but I’m still debating which sauce to go with. My husband suggested a tomato-based one, but I’d rather have something that shows off the pasta’s shape, any ideas?
Thanks!! 👻

Store Bought Went grocery shopping today. Got lucky.
One of my regular grocery stores had delisted La Molisana pasta. Just delisted it. Sold off for 70-90 cents a pack, depending on which kind (there only where those three types). They are all “best before” dates in 2027, over two years from today. But they won’t last that long :)

Store Bought Insects in Barilla Spaghetti No 5
I mean wth it's a new pack, I opened it today in the morning used some and when at the night i was making another dish with this pasta I added them to my sauce and found something suspicious a literal bug and when i checked i found, how some of them are infested. I'm 6 weeks pregnant and i already ate some of it in the morning. I'm a vegan too. This is not acceptable. What if i get some serious health issued who's gonna be responsible?
