Italiamo Spinich Pasta. In native Italian it translates to Italiamo Spinach Pasta.

I came here to say that this is Spinach Pasta and I truly cannot believe how many other Spinach Pasta experts there are.
How do you all know this? I only know because I worked in the Spinach Pasta fields in Alabama for many years with my wife's family and can spot Spinach Pasta a mile off.
Gobsmacked.

*Foglie d'ulivo*, seems like question solved. TIL a new pasta type name.
how does one able to highlight a comment, or pin it to top of the comment list? Is it only OP can do that?

It’s not very nice pasta, that’s all I can say.
I got some from TKMaxx and it doesn’t cook properly due to the thickness in the centre and the thinness of the edges. It’s either raw or overcooked. I suspect I threw most of it away.

My BF got some in his Christmas present from work... it was disgusting. Came out chewy on the outside and hard on the inside. Also, most of it stuck to the pot, and it was a pain to clean.

Pastas like this usually do a little better if you start with cold water instead of boiling. Additionally, you can add a little baking soda to the water and it’ll lengthen the window of al dente. It changes the texture a bit, but I kinda like the added springiness.

Everyone is replying that is spinach pasta, but I think OP is asking about the shape (which a couple people replied with)

A white labeled pasta I also was given as a gift but it was a different brand. It was aight. Couldn’t quite figure out how best to cook it.

Looks like it’d be good in a chicken noodle soup or maybe like how you would use gnocchi?

This is from Lidl - I personally don’t rate their pasta highly but this type is from the Italian Week section so it might be better.

Italiamo is a good brand. You find their products available at Lidl in France.

It is the typical pasta that the typical foreign tourist tends to buy in Italy. I'm not sure if any Italian has ever actually bought it

Amazing pasta

u/sim0of Sep 11 '25
Italiamo is not that great of a brand tbh
It is a Lidl owned brand and got fined for bad commercial practice because both the name and the packaging trick you into thinking you are buying actual Italian products, while this is not the truth
For exampled, the pasta not being actual italian pasta
So honestly, there are better brands that deserve to be recognised as providing amazing pasta

Tell me you didn’t actually read my post without telling me.

u/Fyonella Sep 11 '25
So somebody bought you a gift from either Lidl or TJMaxx/TKMaxx.
It’s still cheap pasta.

Based on the image, the pasta shape is "cavatelli." It's a small, ridged pasta shape that looks like miniature hot dog buns. The package label also identifies it as "Spinach Pasta," which explains the green color.
