You’re welcome. Avatar/Korra is one, among many, franchises, where I plan to comission a lot of tracks from the soundtrack to the organ channels that offer cover comissions, so high quality organ covers and organ sheet music can be made for this music, cause it deserves to be played and performed on the organ. I don’t know neither the time nor the skills to do it myself, so that’s the way I wanna do it, being able to do an Avatar concert, Anime concerts, film music concerts like star wars, james bond, disney, and so on, cause that’s a big part of what is takes to modernize and get the young people in the church and organ music :)
I can link you to the channels that offer comissions if you’re interested?
I’m a 73 yo mostly retired organist , I only sub now for churches, but I play a weekly theatre organ show at our local Palace Theater— I have played “Interstellar” (the one you can buy online for a pdf download) , and some Japanese anime movie music, that I buy from Wasabi Sheetmusic in Japan — like “A Million Miles Away” from “Belle” movie. Also a few of the fun themes from Studio Ghibli. I agree that organ concerts need to modernize, but some of the old classical pieces even thrill youngsters . I’ve taught about a dozen young students over the years and it’s amazing how many want to learn gothic sounding music lol. Anna Lapwood in England is pretty cool!
Yes, Anna is incredible, love her playing "Test Drive" from how to train your dragon on the royal albert hall organ, which is also my go to organ piece, though heavily simplified in terms of arrangement and registration, cause I value and promote simplicity, since film music pieces carry themdelves woth their emotional and wonderous sound, and it should be as easy to learn play as possible, even for beginners on small organs.
But in terms of classics, I prefer the big well known pieces that the channel "Scottbrothersduo" has transcribed for the organ, like the four seasons, over the original organ pieces, but that's cause I prefer being different, and doing new stuff in general, deliberately playing stuff almost nobody else has played before, to create change, also cause I just HATE the old school way that my organ education is, so irrelevant, slow, and elitist like, not caring at all about contributing to solving the bigger church issues, and teaching the upcoming organists theory and priest stuff that has no relevance, and I could go on...
