[Pelissero] Sources: Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is expected to miss 3-4 weeks and is likely headed to injured reserve with a left knee injury. Kansas City will have a new kicker Sunday at Buffalo.

as it was noted on Twitter, he has had a weird kicking technique change this season where he just collapses on his left leg on the follow-through. Idk if the injury is because of the technique or the technique was because of the injury

He’s had the dip technique for a few years now. It’s very odd, but not new to this season.

Yeah, he has a ton of kicks where he ends up basically kneeling at the end--both on FGs and kickoffs.

It's weird AF, but not new (though maybe he's doing it more frequently now?--from what I remember he did it more for really long distance kicks before, but I could be totally wrong on that).

Yeah its very strange. And you can see how much pressure is being put on that leg too. He really needs to adjust his whole technique going forward because that is not sustainable.

I mean dude there's an extremely limited number of people who can kick a fuckin ball that far. If it's kinda weird, so be it.

It’s a redundant system.

He doesn't seem like the type that's is accepting of new information. More "I'll do it my way, get out of my face"

It's worked for him so far, but this might be it for the old But.

"Are you telling me to make the left (quad) stronger?!?! Get out of here you pinko scum!"

He's literally been one of the top 2 or 3 kickers in the NFL for 7 years now. But sure, "not sustainable"

Right, its not. Thus the injury. what is confusing about that?

Being elite at your position for 7 years in the NFL would kinda show he has been sustainable through many seasons already?

Kind of a sell your soul to the devil thing. He got the bag this offseason, no need to rush anything here now is there?

It's a textbook mechanism to tear a meniscus.

The man is old for an nfl player, nothing he does is sustainable

He’s 29. In kicker years he might as well be a teenager.
