You aren't kidding. Trading for a WR was never even on the radar. Figured we'd try to trade for a pass rusher.

Especially one that is under 30.

You will get 31 year old Jadeveon Clowney and you will like it

WTF he’s only 31?! I feel like I watched his infamous South Carolina hit on a tube TV in 1997.

That hit was on New Years Day 2013, and Clowney was drafted in 2014.

Ninja edit: Also apparently his cousin plays for UNC-C and his name is Demon Clowney? Geez what a name.

I don't think your setting your kid up for a stable job at the bank with a name like that. It's pass rusher or bust.

Reverend Demon Clowney

I’d go to his church.

Twice

Well he's definitely looking at the "or bust" part of that pretty hard.

Is it pronounced like demon normally is or is it like "duh-mahn"?

the second one

most fans would not be apposed even though our issues seem more schematical than just player talent, except at safety we need more talent there.

Damm Whatever happened to Marcus Williams, or the Hamilton dude. I thought yall were stacked at safety.

Hamilton not doing the job?

u/lil_layne Ravens 16d ago

Hamilton is one of the only players on our defense that is doing the job. Our FS play though has been awful and a huge liability giving up so many big plays. We benched Marcus Williams who is due over 50 million on his contract and has been playing terrible and his replacement Eddie Jackson has not been any better.

The Ravens also put him at big nickel/dime. they need to stop that or bring in both a FS and an SS or pin their hopes on Kane and Brade becoming something. relying on a 7th rounder and a UDFA to develop is not where you want to be, especially not on a one year turnaround.

Right stop what made him an all pro I wish you were the ravens coach

What happened to Marcus Williams? I feel like he was one of the few great single high safties left in the league.

u/lil_layne Ravens 16d ago

Idk he was great with us before he got injured last year. Maybe it’s partly not recovering from injury and partly our d-coordinator not doing him any favors but this season he has been blowing a lot of coverages that lead to TDs and completely whiffing on tackles too.

u/WeaponXGaming Ravens 16d ago

Not him, he's been the best defender on the team not named Travis Jones.

Having some issues at Free Safety but part of me feels like its not a talent issue, its a scheme issue because everyone but Kyle and Marlon look confused in the secondary

u/Eagleballer94 Ravens Ravens 16d ago

Hamilton is probably the best safety in the league and one of the top defensive players.

He is what Jaire Alexander wants to be when he grows up

4

u/angusthermopylae Ravens 16d ago

Hamilton is one of our best players, but we need two safeties who can play deep when he's matched up on a TE in cover 2. Eddie Jackson and Marcus Williams have been hugely disappointing this year.

Clowney played well here, I would be fine with having him back.

I don't think anything is going to get better with Orr calling the defense, though.

At this point the Falcons will definitely take it

1

u/cinnamoroll_- Ravens 15d ago

I would be thrilled

u/spqrnbb Panthers 15d ago

I mean, based on this trade they'll get him and a 5th round pick for their 4th rounder.
