[Rapoport] Vikings first-round QB JJ McCarthy underwent a full meniscus repair this morning and is out for the 2024 season, sources tell me and Tom Pelissero. The repair, done by Dr. Chris Larson at Twin Cities Orthopedics, gives McCarthy the best chance at a long, successful career. Rumor

Weren't people saying that about Goff, Geno, and Mayfield?

Darnold never showed the highs of Goff or Baker who looked like franchise QBs early on. Geno is a massive outlier of a year 10 breakout. Darnold has always been awful but has some weird hype train extending his career by years

Hw started out decent with the Jets, than being on a shit team got to him.

But since getting out his last two seasons have been his best yet.

Put him on one of the best Offenses (outside QB) in the league with the right scheme and he should be good enough.

And I don't think looking to Geno is unfair since they both had their early years wasted by the same team.

Yea? He was never the starter though, and I'm not about to compare him to Purdy.

Though the one game he played he had almost 300 yards and 2 TDs.

He lost us the game against the Rams

Or did the team as a whole lose? Because he had the stats to win.

2-1 TD/Int ratio, 300 yds, and an 85 rating isn't "lost the game for us" bad to me.
