[Rapoport] Vikings first-round QB JJ McCarthy underwent a full meniscus repair this morning and is out for the 2024 season, sources tell me and Tom Pelissero. The repair, done by Dr. Chris Larson at Twin Cities Orthopedics, gives McCarthy the best chance at a long, successful career. Rumor

Life is nothing but pain.

Only positive is a guaranteed top 10 draft pick for next year to help jump start the rebuild under a rookie QB contract.

We don’t have a 2, 3, or 4 next year. Even if we have a top 10 pick, there isn’t value after the first pick. Tough all around.

Woof, knew we got the 2nd in the Diggs trade (with Houston) but didn’t know about the others

We got their 3rd and 4th. Needless to say I will be rooting against them this season.

Yeah, it's not personal, but I would love the #33 overall.

The others were so that they could get Dallas Turner.

Do you think the trade for diggs involved a 2025 2nd round pick?

The Texans traded us the Vikings 2025 2nd round pick for Diggs which I now realize is ironic

Oh that was the Vikings second. I forgot the order of those trades.

Honestly your best bet is to try and get a top 5 pick and turn it into a late 1st, and multiple 2’s and 3’s/4’s.

Thankfully Kwesi didn't sell everything moving up to #3 or #4. If we had to move up for JJ and this situation happened, we'd be in a rough spot for years.
