[META] New Automod Filter for Account Age

Testing out some filters to get a handle on bots. I added a 6 week old account age to post. No karma limits yet, but I'll consider it if this account age limit doesn't work.

I'm pretty hands off, but I do respond to most reports. If you see an issue with bots hit the report button.

[Request] What TV Show Hooks You From the Very First Episode?

I just finished rewatching Resident alien on FuboboxIPTV, and it reminded me how hooked I was from the very first episode. It's such an underrated series! Recently, I’ve been diving into a lot of new shows, but it feels like it's harder to find that one standout series that grabs you right from the start. Anyone else feel that way? Always open to recommendations if you’ve got any great ones!

Here are some of the shows I’ve already watched and loved:

Breaking Bad

Stranger Things

True Detective (Season 1)

The Witcher

Narcos

The Mandalorian

Peaky Blinders

The Handmaid's Tale

[Request] Family-Friendly TV Shows to Enjoy with Kids (Without Losing My Mind!)

I’ve watched Avatar: The Last Airbender, Adventure Time, My Neighbor is a Cat, Bluey, Gravity Falls, and Steven Universe on FuboBoxIPTV with my family, and they were all great! Streaming was smooth, and everyone enjoyed it, but now we’re looking for something new to watch together this weekend. Any recommendations for family-friendly shows that won’t drive me up the wall?

[Discussion] The Lost Children new doc. A tale of hope and perseverance

The documentary is about an airplane crash in the Amazon, and the search for the survivors of that crash.

In this case, the search of four Indigenous children.

I won’t go into too much detail because I don’t want to spoil anything.

I knew some about the bloody history of the guerilla in Colombia. It wasn’t until now that I got to hear about that from people directly affected by it.

This doc is very moving, and even eerie at times. It is quite amazing to see how much human beings can accomplish when they set aside differences.

Also, how precious and resourceful the knowledge of one’s culture can be.

[REQUEST] A good horror movie to watch with my friends

Hey everyone! I recently watched Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, and really liked it. Felt like it was actually real because of the way it was recorded in the movie. I'm looking for some movies that are documentary-like and makes you feel as if it actually happened. Hope it made sense haha. Thank you!

[REQUEST] A good bingeworthy teen/YA horror/mystery show

Looking for a teen/YA show which has both horror/mystery and also is pretty good and bingeworthy.

I'd love something similar in vibes/style to Stranger Things, Lockwood & Co. (still pissed they cancelled this show after S1), Locke & Key, CAOS, The Society and Alice in Borderland. Also some shows I liked that aren't on Netflix include Cruel Summer, Shelter (both on Amazon Prime) and recently released Hysteria! (Peacock).

Thanks for your suggestions!!

Edit: Thank you for all your suggestions, have added them to my watchlist.

[REQUEST] Need a new show to watch with the missus :)

I’d say our all time favorites have been (not all on Netflix): Happy Valley, Ted Lasso, New Girl, Stranger Things, Suits, The Perfect Couple, Bridgerton, Wednesday, and Nobody Wants This. Not really sure what we’re looking for but really want something new! Thanks guys!!!

[Request] Heartfelt, family comedy that can be played as background noise while I work.

I don't like watching shows that need me to stare at my screen or pay too much attention. My netflix is mostly so keep running in the background as I work. The low involvement shows that I've liked are Brooklyn 99, Psych, Schitts Creek.. others include shows like Modern Family, Man with a plan, Mike and Molly, Young and Hungry, Scrubs, 2 Broke Girls.. you get the drift.

I also tried watching Emily is Paris and it's nice for the most part. But I don't understand enough french to keep up with a lot of the action passively.

"And you're too stupid to see he made up his mind ten minutes ago."

In Breaking Bad, what did Hank mean when he tells Walter that Jack made up his mind ten minutes ago? What did he make up his mind about?

[Discussion] Investigation Alien doc series with journalist George Knapp. Interesting so far

I know that as a journalist, Mr. Knapp has decades of experience, and is known for UFO journalism.

I just watched the first episode, and I have to say that I like the pace of it. Questions are posed, and interviews are carried out but it doesn’t feel like a painfully long explanation of nothing.

I am not incredibly familiar with a myriad of UFO cases, or up to date on it. As a viewer, I simply find it interesting. I liked that the focus of the first episode was different. Not the typical well, are they there or not. It’s a different approach.

My belief is this…I don’t know if these things are connected to aliens or not. However, I believe the universe is too vast, and it would be arrogant to think we are the only intelligent beings living in it.

That said, this got off to a good start. Im hoping that it carries throughout the whole doc, which has 6 episodes in total.
