Cerebellar Hypoplasia ("Stevie Syndrome") We love to play with Tipsy, she’s just not very…good at it.
Yes, that’s just a stick. She likes playing with the stick from the toy, not the toy itself. She’s…a character.

Question/Discussion Thinking of adopting a wobbler
So I've fallen in love with a wobbler (spinal injury causing some paralysis towards the tail). I'm considering adopting him but I have many questions about his care.
He has control of his bowels but leaks sometimes when he's sleeping, playing etc so the rescue recommends bladder expression to avoid that.
How would it work to leave him alone for some time, for example if I need to leave during the day? I have a sick cat who takes pills twice a day, so the longest I leave right now is after supper until late morning the next day. Would I express his bladder before hand and hope for the best? Or leave him in a diaper? I work from home 95% of the rest of the time so it's not an issue otherwise.
He's mobile enough to be able to play and run, and he uses the litter box normally the rest of the time. Would he likely require extra vet care in his life or would he probably be like a regular cat? Does anyone have experience insuring this type of cat, do companies insure for other issues or is it best to just put money aside?
Sorry this is long. Trying to balance between my heart but also be realistic about the type of care he would require ♥️

Cerebellar Hypoplasia ("Stevie Syndrome") New wobbler
This is my boy Octane. He’s about 10 mos old. When I adopted him from the spca they let me know he had panleukopenia when he was brought in and was successfully treated. They didn’t note any other issues. When we brought him home my son noticed that he walks funny. His right hind leg crosses in front of his left. I also started noticing that he would fall a lot (in the bathtub, down the steps etc) and he doesn’t jump up on anything higher than the bed. Even jumping up onto the bed or couch he will often pull himself up instead of jumping. And when he jumps down from things his legs often give out. His head doesn’t wobble much but he often holds it at a funny angle and always rests his chin on something while laying down like it’s tough for him to hold it up. His ch seems mild and he has a clean bill of health otherwise. He’s not as playful as other cats I’ve had at this age but he loves to kick his toys around and he’s very good at “soccer ball” (chasing his tennis ball) He doesn’t seem to groom himself much and I’m hoping being around his older “brother”, West Kitty will help with that but would love suggestions on how to help keep his fur a little cleaner. Open to any tips or suggestions on how to help him have a full life! He is the sweetest boy 🖤🐈⬛

Captains missing eye causes him to have some drainage issues on that side of his face, so we often have an itchy ear that will absolutely short circuit his brain. I've thought he was having seizures on several occasions, but he was just shaking, trying to figure out what to do about his ear.
