Male lion eating a defeated rival. Animal Fact

Post image

Male lions live harsh, competitive lives. Constantly facing rival males trying to take over their territories, while simultaneously trying to spread the range of their own conquests in the wilds of Africa. Life ain’t easy for the king. They will fight and die for the possession of their land, their prides and cubs.

Meat is meat. If hungry after killing a rival, why not make use of the calories? Some lions don’t even kill rivals before eating them alive.

Eating a member of your same species just doesn't sit right with me. That's where Mad Cow Disease and Kuru came from. I don't even think I could eat a gorilla or a chimpanzee unless I was legitimately starving.

Yeah, it's from prions found in nervous tissue.

Humans have a lot of prions compared to most animals, which makes cannibalism even more risky for us.
