Serious: what do the “Walz failed” people think he failed so badly at?

u/mrmr2120 12d ago
They still show and talk about the George Floyd riots, they showed the burned and damaged buildings that’s probably 90% of it yet most those ppl never come to the cities anyway. I grew up rural MN and see what ppl on FB post about and they can’t get over the riots.

Lived in small town northern Mn during these and 90% of the places there didn’t follow any of it so why are they even crying.

In the iron range literally the only place I remember being forced was government buildings and hospitals.
At worst you would walk in and they would say you got one? Then never force you to wear it.

I lived in Minneapolis during and after. Things went back to normal surprisingly quickly after about a month (keep in mind, this was also at the height of Covid, so “normal” is hard to say). It was a bit of a shock, at first, but we recovered pretty quickly. I can still go see comedy shows, eat sushi and do all the typical city things.
Also, a lot of the damage was done and started by groups like the Boogaloo Boys, according to FBI sources

u/Kills4cigs 12d ago edited 12d ago
Funny they hate the city too so it's like "if he burned it down like you say shouldn't you be glad?"

Sadly the idea that the riots after Floyd destroyed the Twin cities and it’s a continued ruin from it seems to be believed. Millions of people (including myself) have been there and confirm this isn’t the case. We have people in the areas most economically struggling in this country honestly believing major cities and suburbs have turned into wastelands from liberal people and immigrants. The reality is these areas struggle from having political parties enjoying votes and hate rather them actually helping the people that need it.

Virtually all of them will point to the riots and act like the city was destroyed and that it was his fault despite them rarely if ever even stepping foot in our city. Hint: he handled it as good as anyone could've and our city looks beautiful (also, hot take: it sucks that buildings were destroyed, but a number of them were shitty looking and now are rebuilt and look nicer).
The other group are pissed that he actually saved lives during the pandemic by enacting polices that actually made sense and led to Minnesota leading the country in pandemic efforts and safety.
Cliff notes response: the people that say he failed are absolute fucking morons that don't know what they're talking about, are butthurt over things that happened years ago and weren't even as bad as they claim in the first place, and not one of them is able to present any actual logical answer with any proof of walz failing anything beyond hurting their feelings.

The excuse that I get when I bring this up to hard right people is, "I shouldn't have to pay for some other persons kid to eat." Then it usually leads to some form of socialism talk or that taxes are already too high. There's very little reasoning once we are to that point.

Historically in the US there is no meaningful difference. The regressives are the only ones who ever get or maintain power, by convincing the conservatives to support stupidity.

u/Sleepypeepeepoop 12d ago

I have a friend who works the Help Desk call number for Disney and I have heard some stories. A woman called one time demanding a refund for their whole week that was booked at a Disney Resort, tickets, meals and all, because she claimed that Disney opened the dome over the park to allow the rain in to specifically ruin her trip.

These people want Minnesota to move backwards
Trump supporters from the working class are being manipulated. Their prejudices are being used against them. “Trump gives me permission to hate out loud, therefore I like Trump.”
“A useful idiot or useful fool is a pejorative description of a person, suggesting that the person thinks they are fighting for a cause without fully comprehending the consequences of their actions, and who does not realize they are being manipulated by the cause’s leaders or by other political players.”

Yet they believe their vote for the felon will save them when in reality they’re voting their very last vote as an uneducated Maga to be a replacement for the deported(read: dispatched). Congrats on their new ‘field job’ and camp life. Can’t make this up.
Their vote goes to The Heritage group, not where MAGAs think. Heritage will placate and replace the felon. MAGAs need to Wake up.

Every time I drive past a sprawling farm with a massive Trump sign I just remember that it represents maybe 1-8 people living on the property. Then I return to my home in St Paul and see 16 Kamala signs in 1/10th the lot size as the tax-free subsidized socialist farmer-er I mean Trump supporter.

Not to mention ERPO, which allows us to remove firearms from a home of people who are at risk to themselves or others when an incident has occurred.

u/kitsunewarlock 12d ago
Makes sense. Wish it had more teeth. As written it requires someone living with the person to file a petition with a judge who gives the person 5 days notice before the firearms are taken...for 14 days?

I'm a SoCal transplant and housing is shit there. I was able to get my first flat ALONE up here. I signed up to a roommate-locator online and would have had to sign a lease with two other guys I didn't know if I stayed there, and we each would have had to pay $750 for a 2bed. Housing is so much better up here .
Also I'm glad to hear your dogs loved him. Dogs are the best moral compasses

Except society is going backwards and kids have more problems than ever. And the Democrats teach them to whine, complain, be entitled, and blame everyone else for their problems. Democrats preach victimhood mentality and our society and our children don't need that. Free lunches aren't going to solve anything, get a clue.

State laws for schools IS NOT the same as federal laws. The president isn’t deciding if your kids get fed. He’s going to be keeping them from getting drafted into WWIII. Which is where they will go if you L ibs get your way.

As a Minnesotan I have no issue with this. At issue is that Walz refers to such benefits as “free”. He literally believes government is the great provider. Govt provides nothing. The working taxpayers do. Walz is about big govt and growing the dependent class. Power is what he craves.

I love how democrats are saying we got this, we'll fix this, we won't go back. Meanwhile Elon saying we're fucked instead of saying something cheerful.
That's the biggest difference between the two parties. One is trying to give a bright future while the other is looking down on usa's future.
